Since everyone expects the Blue Jays to fade, I have a serious question for the rest of you AL East phegs: who in the AL Least has a better chance of winning the division? Baltimore - if they get one hot pitcher
Yankees, if Pineda can give them innings
and never ever count out the Rays this early.
Once the Sox find a replacement for Clay and Dusty, they can turn it around too.
Fraudkees - if you are counting on Pineda to be your difference maker, then your season is already over. Baltimore - Nelson Cruz has carried that team all year. He's never done it over a full season. I doubt if he can. Bawstun - The emotional high is gone and there isn't enough talent to be a contender otherwise Tampa Bay - I agree. You can't ever count out Tampa Bay. Longoria, Price and Meyers haven't even warmed up yet.

I dis-agree On Pineda to an extent...The way this division is shaping up, even short spurts of Pineda can make a huge difference......Say he returns for a month of dominant baseball, and gets hit with another injury, that could still be a huge difference in the division....... As far as Baltimore, I tend to agree, their pitching staff is in no better shape than anyone else in the division.....They are also having a tough time figuring out the back end of their Bullpen...... Tampa....We will see...Agree on Price and Longo......Myers doesnt have enough of a track record for me to just assume that awesome stretch is right around the corner.........Archer has been better and Cobb is back, thats where they will make it or break it

no. he isnt the worst offensive player in baseball. link to where i was even in whatever stupid convo youre referring to? but you using all star game appearances to justify how good someone is, is fucking retarded. deflect away numbnuts. Hes used all the "Jeter" arguments he has mocked his entire posting career, to endorse Boegarts today...."Hits" and "ASG's" which by the way, Boegarts will be nowhere near And as soon as you find the Red Sox poster who called Jeter the worst player in all of baseball... And means it? Ill use those same hits and all star game arguments on Jeters behalf... I'm not and was never arguing that Bogaerts is having an amazing season... I simply pointed out how stupid you sound for saying he has been awful... As soon as I say Jeter had an awful career, you'll be comparing apples to apple's...

Jeter is the worst defensive player in the game. I want to know when Girardi has the balls to tell him "its time". If you're in a pennant race in September, you dont want the guy out there costing your team runs. If Girardi really isnt managing a "good bye tour" then let's see him really prove it.

Jeter batted .314 and had 78 RBI's in his rookie season...Boegarts will absolutely not even remotely sniff either And lets just agree, that I think scoring runs in baseball is more important than you think...Thats fine, matter of opinion

I agree...He has been more awful than ever...... Overall defensive contribution,.....he's a -27 already. I'm starting to feel bad for him out there. However, he's an egomaniac, (most of them are) he's not going to move. Because you have pink hatting Yankees fans who always say "It's Jeter's team, he doesnt have to give up SS". He can't even get to balls that he would get to (which isn't saying much). And Balls hit at him, I've seen him dive for a ball hit right next to him. Nice career, let another guy get in there who can at least cover some ground. According to the baseball gods...Jeter has already cost his team 8 runs this year. That's awful.

So, Dirt argues for the better part of ten pages that hits are bad and Bogaerts is the worst offensive player in baseball... But you choose to take issue with me saying Bogaerts might actually even be an all stst this year... Agsin... Not the guy calling Bogaerts the worst offensive player in baseball... For ten pages... And you mix in a comment about an NBA game last night that you didn't even watch... You're dick-riding 80% of my posts... And ignoring the Bogaerts stuff from Dirt... As though me saying he may be an all stst is so.whoa dumber than saying he is the worst offensive player in all of baseball... Tell everyone again how you're not completely obsessed with bitching about every post I make... For the record, my calling Boegarts the worst offensive player in baseball (I dont even know if I did), is closer to truth, than you calling a guy batting .270 with 2 HR's and 11 RBI on Memorial Day, an All Star..........id love to know the SS having a worse offensive season? Im sure there is 1 or 2, but cant be many If you are saying that with all the hype that Boegarts has come with, that you are "Happy" with the season he has had, Id have a really hard time believing you And Again, this isnt me saying that he will NOT one day be a star.........And one more Again, he is about to become the everyday 3rd basemen, where he would absolutely rank at the very bottom offensively amongst players at that position He has an OPS just shy of .800... 75 points higher tHan MVP difference maker Jacoby Ellsbury...

My best guess is this.......As long as they can carry his "dead weight" defensively, while still winning and staying in the race, they will do that.....If things go awry and they start losing consistently, and falling out of the race, you will hear a lot of what you are saying, from the real fans, and the media........ Ive dis-agree in the past, but this year it is glaring.........Yesterday, a 3 run lead in the 12th, routine grounder he threw away, that could have become a big problem, thankfully it didnt........ For me, at the very least, he has to be replaced for Brendan Ryan in the late innings.......

OPS becomes more meanigless to me by the day, when it says that Xander Boegarts has been a better player this season than Jacoby Ellsbury And thats not an endorsement of Jacoby Ellsbury

It looks great when he throws out Benji Molina and Pablo Sandoval. When good defensive SSs can just back hand the ball in the hole and fire to first. The jump throw, he could never do it with fast guys.

For all the jeter bashing ... he is still getting on base at a .340 clip ... and his slugging is coming up every split from April to May to last 14 to last 7

Solarte is going to hit that wall, if he hasn't already. That BA dropped like 40 points the past week. There's a good reason why he'e been in the minors for a decade.

Ive been saying that all season and it hasnt happened yet hes fantastic with the glove, so as long as he could stay league average at 3rd, they should be fine

Solarte .292 5 HR 25 RBI Your favorite Number? .815 OPS hes one of the 647 players in MLB much better than Pedroia I think most of my emphasis this morning has been about knocking in runs And Xander Boegarts is a .171 hitter with RISP..... Basically, Xander is the guy that comes off the bench in an NBA game when its 107-62, and he puts up 12 4th quarter points I thought we were discussing how important runs scored are?
