"We don't miss Lester" Fans of the last place 2015 Red Sox a year from now But only if he's in NY Lock of the year Like how they finished in last place a year ago? The Red Sox have as many titles in ten years as all NY Sports teams combined...

Dude who gives a shit Ellsbury has been an incredible defender this season and he is 10000x the player that guy is Please, let's move onto something else. We are singing the praises of JBJ right now Ellsbury makes easy catches look hard.... That doesn't make him a great defender... Dude, hes been outstanding in CF Who gives a fuck about a great defensive CF when the Red Sox cant fucking score? Everyone in an around baseball will take a guy that can hit the shit out of the ball, and play an above average CF The reason we are discussing JBJ's glove? Because he cant hit for shit We all know this

baseballs laughing at you Who in the wide world of baseball would ever risk their jobs by saying JBJ has been a suitable replacement for Ellsbury? Can you get me a link? You always have a link He has been a marginal downgrade offensively, and a significant upgrade defensively... And on the list of reasons why the Red Sox have fallen off from last year, I'd put Centerfield below- Pedroia Catcher Buchholz Victorino Nava Ortiz Peavy The SS fiasco Farrells shaky management And a complete and total bust of an off-season... Your .750 ops centerfielder isn't fixing any of the above.... Fact Not Opinion

Most Informed and Objective Sox fans I know
SJM by far World right with him Yam is up there Cereal when he wants to be Down more often than he gets credit for
If I write to SJM this morning, and I will, that "Jacoby Ellsbury isnt in the Top 10 of Sox problems this season", he will absolutely lose his shit, and respond with "Thank God Im not there anymore"

Yeah.... Going from a mediocre centerfielder to a slightly below mediocre centerfielder is the key to a 100+ run differential from last year... "mediocre cf" stfu. anyone calling elsbury "mediocre" last year is fucking retarded. A .781 OPS is the dictionary definition of mediocre...

Nava, Saltamachia Peavy, Victorino, Boegarts
All bigger pieces to the 2013 Red Sox than Ellsbury
Can NOT make this shit up

Buchholz: debatable Victorino: if you mean him being hurt is a concern, i agree. Nava: a platoon player last year is a bigger reason for not winning than the full time cf? wtf Ortiz: guys got 24 homers in a "down year". youre reaching here. Peavy: a guy they brought in last year to be a #4 (lester, lackey, clay are ahead of him) is more important than a starting CF? The SS fiasco: uh, same ss as last year. maybe 3b is a bigger reason than ss. Farrells shaky management: guys cant produce, i find it hard to blame the manager. FIFTY

so lets get this straight.....
Jackie Bradley is the best center fielder in baseball....and better than or equal to Jacoby
Dustin Pedroia is the best second baseman in baseball
Brock Holt is the rookie of the year
Xander Bogaerts is in the top 4 of all shortstops in baseball
A healthy Mike Napoli is better than virtually any other first base option in the American League
when is the parade?

It really doesn't matter in this case if Ellsbury is paid a ton.
Is his contract preventing the Yankees from signing some other big time player next off-season? I'd wager no..
If a team like the brewers signed Ellsbury to that kind of contact. He would absolutely be a liability, since it would prevent them from signing anyone else.
Yankees have clearly shown they don't give 2 shits about the Luxury tax if it means getting the players they want..
Ells is having a good year. He's been a positive for the Yankees. Unlike Beltran. He's also been better than JBjr thus far.
