Danks is no diggity. That said, I would have started him today, if I had not grabbed Jesse Hanh on a waiver claim.

Is this the year of the DL or DTD status? I think it needs to be called the year Tommy John ruled baseball,.......years after his retirement....

Just to make all other owners feel better about their team and day today. Lucky for me, I'm in first by a bit in this one. Today. Nori Aoki goes 1-4, with a run and 2 r.b.I. The rest of my team, 0-18 0 0 0 0

Oh, sorry that wasn't directed towards anyone on this board BigD... it was just a general frustration question as my Yahoo League and everything I read still say's "out" but NOT done for the season.

Oh he's done all right. That said, he could get healthy and rushed back, to be able to play late this season. But, with the D-Backs being well out of it, and, with him being their most prized player, it will not happen.

I just wanted to make sure he most likely was done before I did it

RESPECT
Hard to gain, easy to lose. I bring this up in this fantasy area for a reason today. The main and usualy way to gain respect in fantasy is winning, or at least in putting together a good long stretch of good years in a row in a long running league.
To me though, there is a more hidden and much less flashy way to gain the respect of your league mates. And, it only involves trying. As per fairly usual, I am thinking of those of you in Roto league. By this time of the year, most everything is well in place to show how is going to finish where. There is still room for movement, but not much, and, only in select still hotly contested cats. BUT, even though this is the case, I am always impressed by those who are still making roster moves, and still trying to eek out that last possible fantasy point.
Even if it will only be the difference between say 5th & 6th place. I respect the hell out of guys like this. They keep trying, though they really have no other reason to. They refuse to let their 9 month time investment be for nothing, and, at the same time, have chosen not to just flat blow off the last month of baseball, in order to move onto football now, like sadly many do.
So, for me anyway, I see you Mr. Tryer for no real reason. I see you, and I respect you. And, most of all, I hope that you will be back with me next year, as you are the guy I want to play fantasy ball with and against.

For anyone in need of a few saves in the next 2 weeks.
Eric O'Flaherty is expected to serve as the A's closer while Sean Doolittle (intercostal) is sidelined. That will allow Ryan Cook and Luke Gregerson to remain in their current setup roles -- where they have both excelled. Doolittle was placed on the disabled list Sunday with an intercostal strain and could be out for close to three weeks. O'Flaherty, who has a 1.35 ERA and 0.83 WHIP in 13 1/3 innings since returning in July from Tommy John surgery, obviously needs to be scooped up in all standard fantasy leagues.

I went to bed with Doolittle's status in Yahoo being N/A, and not D/L for some reason. So of course when I woke to at 2:30 a.m, there I was, moving parts around, before anyone else could really act on the news. And, was very happy to find the Cubs Hector Rondon on the waiver wire, as he will do just fine for me for the next 2 weeks, or, if he keeps rolling, I may just drop Doolittle in the end, if I see that the A's are more likely to rest him than use him over the seasons final week or so.

But the league I have him in I'm loaded for saves, could have used him in my other league tho

This is probably wrong of me and a bad thing, but this is why I like 10 team leagues. There is always someone hiding on the waiver wire that otherwise should not be there.

Because sometimes, a change of scenery is just that.
So far at least a change of scenery hasn’t done Justin Masterson any good. He had a 5.51 ERA in 19 starts for the Indians and now he has a 7.43 ERA in five starts for the Cardinals.
Masterson failed to make it out of the fourth inning Sunday against the Phillies, allowing five runs while recording nine outs, and Rick Hummel of the St. Louis Post Dispatch writes that “the staff will have to reconsider his spot in the rotation” if his next scheduled start Saturday goes poorly as well.
St. Louis added both Masterson and John Lackey at the trade deadline and the two veteran starters have combined to post a 6.38 ERA in 48 innings. Lackey is signed through 2015, but Masterson is an impending free agent whose likely market value has plummeted.

Keep Rex Brothers or drop him? In the nicest way I can, I wonder why you would have him in the first place. Even in holds leagues, he is nothing special. You can easily do much better i'm sure with someone, anyone else.
