Vernon Davis reports to San Francisco 49ers camp 7 By Chris Wesseling Around the League Writer Published: July 23, 2014 at 12:15 p.m. Updated: July 23, 2014 at 12:42 p.m. After skipping offseason practices in an attempt to leverage his absence into a new contract, Vernon Davis has reported for the start of San Francisco 49ers training camp. Safety C.J. Spillman posted an Instagram video of Davis in the 49ers locker room, hugging and shaking hands with teammates amid laughter. Although Davis forfeited a $200,000 workout bonus and racked up a $70,000 fine for his offseason absence, he recently conceded that it's "not the end of the world" if his actions don't result in a new contract. While Davis has returned to collect his $4.7 million salary, right guard Alex Boone will not show up, per NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. Rapoport previously had reported that Boone will not rejoin teammates without a pay raise. The 49ers have a deep and talented offensive line, so it will be interesting to see which side blinks first in the contract standoff. The latest "Around The League Podcast" shines a light on the most unpredictable teams entering the 2014 season. www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000367568/article/vernon-davis-reports-to-san-francisco-49ers-camp?utm_source=NFLFanzone&utm_medium=twitter&utm_term=%23NFLFANZONE+%23NFL
