On paper, Tiesi-Manziel would have had to finish each mile in around 9:06 minutes, but according to her mile-by-mile splits — which are currently posted on the event’s official website — she reached the 6.4-mile split at 1:31:29, meaning that for the first half of the race she was running each mile at a 14:20 pace, Deadspin reported.
This means that in order for Tiesi-Manziel to have finished the half marathon in 1:59:07 hours, she would have had to run the last 6.7 miles in 26:54 minutes — and at a pace of four minutes per mile, that would have been faster than the current world record.
