I vaguely remember McNamara's Morons. One of my brother's best friends went over in '69, he actually made it home but I'll always believe he had undiagnosed PTSD(was never quite right after coming home). He told us that he had some of the "Idiot Patrol" guys in his platoon, said it was really freaky going out in the bush with those guys. Had no concept of stealth or just how dangerous it was even when you were still close to base. He said it was really dangerous having to look for out yourself and them at the same time. An awful lot of them didn't even come close to making it to discharge date. |
