Chris Davis I've always thought you'd have to be a complete fucking moron to get caught these days Turns out there is really no incentive not to "cheat" he gets 25 games, and gets to keep his contract. If you are that desperate, it's really not that much of a penalty

If you are that desperate, it's really not that much of a penalty I agree, however in this day and age players think they can get away with anything and let's be honest in the past even if they got caught it was a slap on the wrist so players still continue to do it.

Mornin D Braves win. But the pirates won again too Been here, done this. Braves will suck until they get rid of Wren, Gonzalez and Bj. It will be at least a year before ownership finally realizes this. Stick a fork in the Braves, husker. Give the Huskers your loyalty for now. The Braves are a has been team for now.

Why do the Rays have Will Myers batting 4th? That sounds like a Freddy G lineup.

So, the Derek Jeter retirement party rolls on. And, with Baltimore being the latest stop, he has a new gift to ponder. And, unlike most of his other gifts, this one he can eat. All of that said, if I was to just go with the headline I found, and nothing else, it would have made for a very funny story in itself.
"The Baltimore Orioles give Derek Jeter crabs".

Joe Girardi told reporters that Masahiro Tanaka is tentatively scheduled to pitch on Sunday in the Yankees game against the Blue Jays at Yankee Stadium. If he does so, it will be his first start since July 8.
It’s a “let’s see what ya got” start, presumably. If he’s effective and feels good afterward, the Yankees can shut him down and feel at least reasonably confident that they can count on him for 2015. If not, well, there’s a good chance he goes under the knife and misses all of 2015. Which, if they had just done that back in July, he still would’ve missed almost all of the season anyway. So there was some value in waiting here.

This is about next year, and, if they can count on him coming into next spring fully healthy.

On the other is increased interest, meaning that we now have more teams and fans of teams interested and in the playoff hunt, with very little settled. with 12 aprox games still to be played.

49 years ago today, the Red Sox Dave Morehead threw a no hitter at Fenway vs. the Indians.
This is itself is interesting. However, in light of the Red Sox recent run of good fortune and series titles, I found one more thing interesting about that game 49 years ago.
That being, that only 1,247 Sox fans bothered to show up for that game.
And, I did not even know they had and sold pink hats way back then..........

So, unless the Angles start resting guys, including starting pitchers, I think the M's will end out outside looking in. The A's, on the other hand, get a horrible Texas team twice, and still even a series vs. Philly. I think they will be the ones with that wild card by the time things are said and done. I kind of left out K.C, as their schedule is all inner divisional, and, as I think their supurb pitching can not offset their lack of hitting to make up the game or so theu would need to make the post season.

This is the time of year that I start getting injury info that REALLY pisses me off. Case in point today, the Rangers Shin Soo Choo. We all know he was lost for the year on 8/23 due to a bone spur in his elbow. Well, just announced today, he is also having ankle surgery to repair some torn cartilage. The part that pisses me off is that he played with the ankle thing this whole year, and DID NOT BOTHER TO MENTION IT TO ANYONE. So, that may actually be the reason he had such and off and down year.
As a fantasy player, I kind of would have liked to know that, say, in APRIL!!!!!! I like gutty and gritty baseball players. BUT, I do not want them on my team, trying to gut out injury after injury. I would rather have a guy that says he is hurt, and how hurt, from the get go. That way, I can decide for myself, with good and helpful info, if I want to stick with this guy, or, if I want to replace him with someone maybe not as good, but much more healthy, and much more likely to put up good fantasy numbers.
There will be more stories like this, because there are every year. And, every year, I seethe in anger when I find ouot about them.

I got this from the AP recap of last night’s game, but it’s such a fun fact, I figured I’d share: Last night was the 10th time the Braves have watched a visiting team celebrate a playoff victory or postseason-clinching win since moving to Turner Field in 1997.

And so the Rusney Castillo era begins in Boston tonight. Castillo batted .293/.370/.463 in his 11 minor league games prior to his summoning to the Majors. He will split time with Jackie Bradley in center field, but if Brock Holt returns from a concussion, Will Middlebrooks could lose some playing time as well.

As Derek Jeter's final season winds down, only three stops remain on his farewell tour. Wednesday night will mark Jeter's final game at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, and on Tuesday the Tampa Bay Rays joined the rest of baseball in honoring Jeter with a series of parting gifts.
In perhaps the most touching presentation during Jeter's final campaign, Don Zimmer's widow Soot Zimmer was joined on the field by Rays veterans Evan Longoria and Jose Molina. Together, they presented Jeter with a framed No. 66 Zimmer jersey, which we're guessing will immediately shoot to the top of Jeter's favorite gifts list.
Soot Zimmer is here. Jeter is being presented with a framed Don Zimmer No. 66 jersey.
— Bryan Hoch (@bryanhoch) September 16, 2014 #Rays presentation of a Don Zimmer jersey to Jeter - by Longoria, Molina and Soot Zimmer pic.twitter.com/Y20R0B9WBI
— Marc Topkin (@tbtimes_Rays) September 16, 2014 Zimmer served as Yankees bench coach early in Jeter's career and would become a friend, confidant and mentor to Jeter as he blossomed into a future Hall of Famer. Zimmer, who died June 4, obviously holds a special place in Jeter's heart, and though he was most recently associated with the Rays, he's most often remembered for those years in New York.
The Rays did well to acknowledge that relationship and honor both legends in a heartfelt way.
In addition to that special gift, Jeter was also presented with a pinstriped kayak with his soon-to-be-retired No. 2 on it.
Fortunately for Jeter, he's expected to settle in the Tampa Bay area once his retirement sets in. According to Fox 13, he recently built a mansion on Davis Islands that many refer to as "St. Jetersburg," so he won't have to transport that very far.
Also among the Rays kind offerings was a $16,000 donation to Jeter's Turn 2 Foundation. According to Brendan Kuty of New Jersey Online, the Rays arrived at that number by donating $50 for each of Jeter's career hits (316) against the Rays since they debuted in 1998 and then rounding up to the nearest thousand.
Jeter has now received $345,444.44 in donations for the Turn 2 Foundation from oppositing teams with one road stop left in Boston.

The little ballplayer that could.....
Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is only 24 years old and he's already a two-time All-Star. And he's already a record-holder in the Astros' franchise history, because Tuesday night he picked up hits 210 and 211 on the season, the latter breaking Craig Biggio's club record.
Biggo's 1998 season and Altuve's 2014 season are actually the only 200-plus hit seasons in Astros history. Altuve's 52 stolen bases are tied for the 10th-best season in franchise history and he's one double away from joining the top 10 there, too. He's also primed to lead the league in hits, average and stolen bases this season.
Again, he's only 24.
