Injuries have taken its toll on this team too I prefer not to play the injury card unless Matt Ryan goes down and then I'll play it because it will make a world of sense. LOL Technically speaking, that is what trading and selling and buying (and AAA ball players like LaStella) is for is to make up for injuries. But of course the Braves can't or don't know how to do either one since Frank Wren came to town. Just so you know. Despite all of your recent doom and gloom, you don't get to be Eeyore. Because I'm Eeyore. And, Debbie Downer. Find your own fictional sad sack to be... Are you cheered up yet?

The Mets just can't quit Bobby Abreu Designated for assignment and then released by the Mets last week, Bobby Abreu has signed a minor-league deal with … the Mets. Abreu will report to Triple-A, where he hit .395 in 15 games earlier this season before being called up to the majors. He got off to a decent start as a bench bat and occasional starter for the Mets, but Abreu hit .151 from mid-June until he was let go. Presumably the Mets have indicated to Abreu that he has a good shot of returning to the big leagues as a September call-up and, not surprisingly, the 40-year-old’s other options were limited. The Mets went to baseball purgatory in 1987. They have no idea what they are doing any more than Frank Wren does.

I don't hide behind some glimmer of hope when there is none. I'm just a realist. I also take meds for depression (dysthymia), just so you know and I have an alternate personality who comes out every now and then. You'll know him when you meet him, LOL. I used to be a Georgia Tech fan but they pissed me off so much that I turned my back on them and am now a North Carolina fan. Learn something new every day, LOL.

If you can afford to have a team, you can. The fat that you know little or nothing of the game is not an issue or concern. Apparently.

Nobody is a bigger critic of his teams or himself than me. You can take that to the bank and give the teller a jolly.

Right back at you. However, I have been told that I am an acquired taste, one that only some ever do. It's the negitive honesty that ends up being offputting. People are not used to dealing with people online that don't come off as a 6'5 bulletproof millionaire with a supermodel wife & yacht. Maybe they get enough real life and honesty elsewhere?

Braves are now 6 games behind the Nats, 3 games out in the WC race. Braves are done after this weekend. Stick a fork in them. A's will sweep easily. Last night Gonzalez brings in a pitcher in the 9th who had a 5.40 ERA in AAA ball. Needless to say the Dodgers got another run and beat us by two runs. BJ struck out in the bottom of the 9th with men on second and third. Why did Gonzalez let him bat with 2 out and the game on the line? This guy really irks me. We have pitchers who bat better than BJ. FIRE GONZALEZ!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!

Three of the top five in the AL in WAR (BB-Ref) are AL West 3rd basemen. Josh Donaldson (2nd at 6.2), Kyle Seager (4th at 5.0), and Adrian Beltre (5th at 4.9).

Hey, the Braves scored 7 runs tonight. Unbelievable. The A's must feel real sorry for them. That and the fact that Coco Crisp couldn't find the ball out in center field helped a lot. LOL Twilight in Atlanta will do that to you. LOL

Im set on OF and 3B no matter which one I drop You decision has probably already been made, but I would say Bruce would be the one to go. He is too inconsistant, and, with a lot of lineup protection missing for him, the decision is made for me on that.

mornin'D
so in that league where I had all those injuries earlier in the year and the others were trying to screw me over in trades because I was last or close to it, I'm all the sudden in 5th place. It pays to have patience sometimes

The Padres have never thrown a no-hitter. Not a single Padres hitter in history has ever hit for the cycle. They've gone to two World Series, had one MVP winner (Tony Gwynn never won an MVP award, for the record) and yet they've never had a second baseman hit over 30 home runs. In an entire San Diego CAREER.
Jedd Gyorko is now the Padres' all-time HR leader at 2B - with 31.
To me, this is so far beyond sad......

Person I hate most today.
Bartolo Colon's mom.
Did she really have to get sick now? Really?
Cost me a 2 start week in my H2H league, and that alone may be enough for my team to lose.

The Red Sox givith. Then, they takith away......
One day, if the Red Sox’ plans go the way they want them, both Mookie Betts and Jackie Bradley, Jr. will be on the same team at the same time. But not today. Boston recalled Betts from Triple-A Pawtucket and optioned Bradley back down.
Betts hasn’t impressed anyone at the big league level, but you figure the Sox want to see him playing every day as they play out the string in order to see what they have. Meanwhile, Bradley’s defense is excellent, but he’s struggling at the plate. He’s more of a known quantity of course, so you figure they’re better off letting him relax and readjust in the minors.
