This sums it up: www.buzzfeed.com/katienotopoulos/photobucket-just-killed-a-chunk-of-internet-history?utm_term=.jqOrm2beY#.fd89bLOGqAlmost every day I get some kind of spammy email from PB, I was never told this change was coming My photobucket is now totally wiped out (by me)no pics on there to even link to, deleted my account and over 1000 pics 1 by 1 yet their ransomeware images wont go away. I have since uploaded directly from my PC to the site the small SC logo for every forum on the main page, yet the PB ransomeware STILL wont go away. If you hit refresh the new icons I uploaded directly show up until the page fully loads, then they change.That's messed up!They wont respond to my (or anyone's) emails. Really shady shit they are pulling and I have done literally everything I can besides pay them the $400 which aint happening. I am pretty pissed off about this, can only imagine how much worse it is for a lot of others Even worse the main cause(s) of this is is online ads dont pay like they used too because of ad blockers. It wont be long before the internet only has about 10 huge "free" sites because without ad money or memberships, there's no sites |

Fuck Photobucket we don't need no stinkin' pictures. yeah man it took a lot of time to have all the stuff we just lost. Not sure I'm going to do it all again. I actually could have done most of it (hosting the pics)through this site but Id have to do it theme by theme. Using photobucket and the plug ins (like the shop/fave teams etc) made it a lot easier/faster but it still sucked lol. I used another site for most of the favorite teams that's why they mostly still work(for now anyway ha ha) |

So my photobucket account finally deleted a few days ago. I figured that would finally get rid of the images they put up saying I had to pay up but no...They did turn in to cats though so that's nice.
Yesterday I deleted all the links to photobucket pics that were used in the favorite teams and the store plug ins, that's why we lost some bling/smilies but that didnt help get rid of the ransomeware pics either...I am pretty stumped!
They did finally respond to my emails , a canned response saying since they hadnt heard back from me I must be all set!
told them to GFYs of course

I finally killed the beast last night! Well... lookie there! Great Success. I checked the support board and someone came up with a code that did the trick. Only downside is no pics hosted on PB will work here but I can live with that. Also probably just a matter of time before the other site I use does the same thing  |
