Basically they say since there's no good reason Facebook and the like can profit off your history while ISPs cannot, they're scrapping all regulations. Which makes a tiny amount of sense, except when you consider how much money is pouring in from cable/internet execs.

Basically they say since there's no good reason Facebook and the like can profit off your history while ISPs cannot, they're scrapping all regulations. Which makes a tiny amount of sense, except when you consider how much money is pouring in from cable/internet execs. I just find it a little unusual in the recent uproar by the right about the "deep state" and privacy, that they turn around and pass this. Think the vote was straight on party lines. Soooo. . . . government having your internet secrets = bad. Your ISP having your internet secrets and selling it to others, including presumably the government. O.K.!
