This without a doubt is the hardest mock draft year I can remember. Without a true franchise QB and a glut of edge rushers, wideouts cornerbacks running backs and without a doubt the strongest tight end and safety classes in recent memory makes projections even tougher as teams might sit on a position knowing that there are lots more prospects at that position. Beware those teams that need Offensive Tackles as there are very few with top 3 round grades similar problem with QB's as there is no pro ready QB in this draft so redshirtting them is a must. This is a very deep draft ('cepting OT's and QB's)
1 Cleveland Myles Garrett DE, Texas A&M
destined to play OLB in the Browns 3-4 defense across from Jamie Collins. He is the prototypical edge rusher with a motor to boot
2 San Francisco Mitch Trubisky QB, North Carolina,
only started one season of college ball but has the arm to make all the throws. A definite redshirt here possibly 2 seasons before he is ready, could also see Watson go here jt's a matter of which of the 2 Shanahan likes more
3 Chicago Malik Hooker S, Ohio State
I can see the Bears wanting to trade down here but I can't see teams wanting to pay to move up so they take the best player on the board in Hooker. They are supposed to be all in on Mike Glennon in free agency if this fails there is a possibility they take the one of Trubisky or Watson that the Niners passed on
4 Jacksonville Leonard Fournette RB, LSU
Power back with speed He should make the Jags D better in the same way Zeke did for the Pokes in '16 Not much in the passing game. Pro comp Jamaal Lewis
5 Tennessee (from LA Rams) Jamal Adams S, LSU
In the box S who will help as much in the run game as the pass.
6 New York Jets Deshaun Watson QB, Clemson
The other frontrunner in the Glennon sweepstakes who obviously would be picking Lattimore or Tim Williams if the have Glennon signed
7 Los Angeles Chargers Mike Williams WR, Clemson
hard to type that LA Chargers not Williams, who would make for quite a WR group with Keenan Allen, Benjamin, Tyrell Williams and Mike Williams I can see the Chargers possibly going for Mahoomes in the 2nd round
8 Carolina Jonathan Allen DT, Alabama
Gettleman builds from the inside out and is insurance in case Lotulelei goes to free agency in 2018
9 Cincinnati Reuben Foster ILB, Alabama
How much longer can the Bengals go with Malaluga at ILB well they solve the problem with Foster
10 Buffalo Marshon Lattimore CB, Ohio State
Average sized but great technique make his NFL ceiling as a true #1 CB
11 New Orleans Sidney Jones CB, Washington
So want to put OJ Howard the TE here but sanity has to prevail although all bets are off if they have traded Cooks for the mid first they desire than I'd type Howard here and Jones or Tabor with the 1st they pick up from the Eagles or Titans
12 Cleveland Ryan Ramczyk OT, Wisconsin
or Lamp OG out of Western Kentucky before they get the franchise QB they need the OL that will protect him from Joey Harrington syndrome also known as David Carr Happy feet syndrome one of these would help I am going with the Badger here and to eventually kick out to LT when Thomas is jettisoned
13 Arizona DeShone Kizer QB, Notre Dame
The Mad Mel is speechless moment I hope for, a perfect succession plan for Palmer moving on a Arians style fit at QB
14 Philadelphia (from Minnesota) Corey Davis WR, Western Michigan
Great route runner who plays inside and out Potential to be a true #1 Eagles fans close your eyes and imagine Demaryius Thomas.
15 Indianapolis Solomon Thomas - DE, Stanford
Fast rising prospect great first step fills a huge hole in Indy front 7
16 Baltimore Dalvin Cook RB Florida State
Quick cutter who will fit the zone read running scheme preferred by the Ravens also adept in the passing game
17 Washington John Ross WR Washington
His pro comp is DeSean Jackson who he'll replace in the DC offense
18 Tennessee Budda Baker S Washington
With Davis and Ross taken just before their pick the Titans switch sides and fill a huge hole in their secondary
19 Tampa Bay Tim Williams, Alabama
Pass rush specialist who will with coaching become an every down player in 2018
20 Denver Forrest Lamp G, Western Kentucky
Plug in 10 year starter with high floor
21 Detroit Takkarist McKinley DE/OLB, UCLA
Undersized hybrid type edge rusher
22 Miami Haason Reddick ILB, Temple
No one has moved higher faster since the Senior Bowl than Reddick who is a scheme fit at a position of need in Miami
23 NY Giants O.J. Howard TE, Alabama
Howard helps open up OBJ outside by taking the inside help away
24 Oakland Quincy Wilson CB, Florida
Better than teammate Tabor higher ceiling as well
25 Houston Garett Bolles OT, Utah
One year starter with Left Tackle potential
26 Seattle Taco Charlton DE, Michigan
Tall and athletic can rush bull or finesse needs more consistency
27 Kansas City Jarrad Davis ILB, Florida
Chiefs draft Derrick Johnson's replacement
28. Dallas David Njoku TE, Miami
Raw receiver with TE size very high ceiling floor not so much
29 Green Bay
Alvin Kamara RB, Tennessee
Three down back inside/outside runner.. I can see them go another way and take Mixon late 2nd
30 Pittsburgh Zach Cunningham LB, Vanderbilt
Lawrence Timmonds replacement
31 Atlanta
Jabrill Peppers - S, Michigan
Swiss army knife hybrid has Dan Quinn designing schemes to use him
32 New England T.J. Watt LB, Wisconsin
Hoodie grabs JJ's little brother
