I highly doubt Jay Cutler is their starting quarterback going into next season I highly doubt he's on their roster come draft day but some team that loses out in the QB carousel game will have him as a starter or competing for the starting job

Report: Bears, Mike Glennon to sign three-year, $43.5 million dealPosted by Michael David Smith on March 9, 2017, 7:37 AM EST The Bears and Mike Glennon appear to be on the verge of a deal that will make Glennon the team’s starting quarterback, at a salary that sounds like a lot but is lower than most starting quarterbacks make. Glennon is expected to get a three-year deal with an annual average of $14.5 million, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. That puts Glennon’s total deal at $43.5 million, although there’s no word on how much of that is guaranteed and no other details about the structure of the contract. That’s right in the range of what has been expected for Glennon, and the avearge of $14.5 million puts him at 23rd in the NFL among quarterbacks, below Andy Dalton’s $16 million but well above Robert Griffin III’s $7.5 million. Glennon is expected to start for the Bears at first, but the team would also likely draft a quarterback. If the Bears use the third overall pick in the draft on a quarterback, that means Glennon will just be a stopgap starter and that the high pick will be the quarterback of the future. But for now, anyway, Glennon is getting paid in Chicago. profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/03/09/report-bears-mike-glennon-to-sign-three-year-43-5-million-deal/

My guess is they like a 2nd round (or later) kid. I don't see them drafting a guy in the 1st with this signing.

Prince Amukamara to Bears on one-year deal
Posted by Josh Alper on March 10, 2017, 11:53 AM EST Cornerback Prince Amukamara is on the move again. Amukamara signed a one-year deal with the Jaguars around this time last year, but the arrival of his former Giants coach Tom Coughlin to run football operations in Jacksonville wasn’t enough to keep him from hitting the open market. Amukamara’s stay on the market wasn’t a long one. According to multiple reports, he is headed to Chicago on a one-year deal with the Bears. Financial details haven’t been revealed at this point. Amukamara played 14 games for the Jags in 2016 and made 12 starts. He had 49 tackles and six passes defensed. The Bears have also signed safety Quintin Demps in free agency as they work to build up a secondary that would also benefit from a healthy return from Kyle Fuller after the corner missed all of last season with a knee injury. profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/03/10/prince-amukamara-to-bears-on-one-year-deal/

Compared to the market he is probably the best available option....he is not a bad quarterback....throws a very good deep ball...and doesnt turn it over a lot...he will be a decent starter...30 career tds to 15 career picks in 18 career starts.....and those were on some god awful bucs teams...of course they over paid....but that doesnt detract from his ability....he has a lot of upside.....and 18 games of starting experience.

Darfted by Tampa Bay 4 years ago.....started 18 games on really shitty teams in the 1st 2 years, then they drafted Jamies Winston when they got the chance and that was the end of him.....probably one of the best 32 QBs in the NFL.....but not one of the top 25.

Apparently, really good arm, big guy, not mobile at all, smart, good decision maker.....upside: solid NFL starter.

I also really like the Glennon signing for the Bears.
I have made it clear all year that if the Patriots are willing to give up Jimmy G......any team who trades for him is stupid. (assuming they are giving up something of value)
The Bears are in rebuilding mode, so the money is pointless to everyone except the guy writing the check.
If Glennon is good.....great, you have your QB for the future. If Glennon busts, no big deal, he'll help you get a better pick and you can cut him. His dead cap in year 3 of the deal is only $1 million.....hell it's only $4.5 million next year.
This was a great contract.

Kendall Wright and Marcus Wheaton. Another in the long list of troubling Titans early WR picks that rarely produced and a player that couldn't grab the WR2 job in Pittsburgh when Bryant was suspended. This isn't much better than those bad Bucs offnses Glennon played on previously

This isn't much better than those bad Bucs offnses Glennon played on previously its an odd WR group......a bunch of oft injured guys who have shown promise at some point in their careers..
Wright Wheaton Victor Cruz Rueben Randle
their 2015 #8 overall pick who broke a leg, came back the next year, saw a couple games of action....broke the other leg....Kevin White
Best returning receiver is Cam Meredith, big college QB who moved to WR is is developing pretty well. This will be his 3rd year.
need a 2 of these guys to make a comeback and be productive alongside Meredith. Could be an OK crew, could be big pile of injured shit.

Gotta hurt when your #1 is a 4 at best on just about every team but the Jets and he goes down

Not going to be much difference.....Kendall Wright looks good in the slot. Kevin White, Marcus Wheaton, Victor Cruz......
it was a weakness going in, and still a weakness......not much of a change.

Gotta hurt when your #1 is a 4 at best on just about every team but the Jets and he goes down and by the way when you get 900yds when you have Matt Barkley and Brian Hoyer throwing to you.......with no drops.....that's a pretty good "#4 at best"
