Lol dude. He was there for 2 years, trying to flip defensive personnel to his scheme. I get you dont like him. But like any other coach. They need time to get their plan working. Doesn't work that way in the NFL. He took over a 9 and 7 team that hadn't been to the playoffs in 20 years and they got worse under him. I guess man. But that team sucked in 2014.

I want to say smart hire based on the experience and reputation of Wade Phillips. But Wade is purely a 3-4 guy and LA's only strength is their four man front. It'd be retarded to blow that up. That'll be interesting. Donald will be pretty powerful in the guard/tackle gap. The thing about 3-4, 4-3........i think it's somewhat overrated now. I know it's how we still term these DCs, but so much of the game is in nickle and I think they should start categorizing these DCs based off of how they play nickle. Yeah this is smart. 3-4 vs. 4-3 is oversimplifying. Seen lots of teams play 3-4 and then one of those linebackers is rushing the edge 60% of the time. I'm not sure if this is true, but Google says Phillips employs a 1-gap scheme more often than not. So he's more or less playing a 4-3 with the fourth guy starting off the line anyway. If Google is correct...

hes been good wherever he has gone, just not as a HC. Ownership fucked him in Buffalo. He had magic there with Flutie. They made him play Rob Fucking Johnson. Then he was at the mercy of the greatest choke of all... romo Id hire wade over most of this group of HCs This is also smart. IMO the jury is out on whether he would be a good head coach. His previous stints at the hands of shitbum owners don't tell me all that much. Carroll was a fuckface at his first two gigs. Belichick at his first gig. Shit happens when your owner is a gump. Anyone who remembers that Rob Johnson joke is ok by me.

Latest Gruden rumor that apparently has some legs according to NBC Sports Jim Irsay is pushing hard for him to come to the Colts These guys make more money as analysts. Why would they want to take less to add stress to their lives? Why do you think Cowher hasn't coached in 11 seasons?

The obstacles to Colts-Gruden deal: Money (4 yrs, $40 mill is number I've heard), roster control, and what to do about Ryan Grigson.

Tend to agree, but think Gruden is a bit of a different cat, that's why I think it a little more possible...That dude is a football junkie, don't think he has seen his family in a decade

Seriously. I wouldn't even want Grigson alive with a Twitter account, nevermind employed with the team. Maybe 4/40 is worth the aggravation, but that's a rough owner to work for...and Grigson is a total moron.

But with a competent coach and Luck, they probably win that division for the next decade

If I'm Gruden, and Grigson is paid off and sent packing, and I have full control and can bring in my own GM to manage things, and 4/40, I take it. If I'm Irsay, and Gruden has a GM in mind who has experience (not necessarily as a GM, but at least as an assistant w/ salary cap knowledge, etc.), I give him what he wants. Then I do a speedball off an Asian hooker's C-cups and drive a Lambourghini into a pool.

LOL they might fire O'Brien? You have given him zero at the QB position and yet he's somehow made something work.

LOL they might fire O'Brien?????????? You have given him zero at the QB position and yet he's somehow made something work. Agreed. Three straight 9-7 seasons, including two consecutive AFC South division titles. Just won a playoff game without his best defensive player (JJ Watt). What more do they expect this guy to do without a QB? not sure that is considered a real win they beat a 3rd string qb

Id give it to him and tell him to prove it.
