Many fewer teams back then, so everyone was more loaded with talent. I don't think that makes things any harder now or easier. Your team was more loaded back then, but so was everyone else. It wasn't a fait accompli who was going to the finals. Lakers choked against Houston twice. There were a couple other West teams that were close enough to the Lakers for it to be possible for them to get past them. They just didn't. Same in the East. Bucks knocked us out one year. Knicks/Bulls were tough, and later, Atlanta. Yeah, it was probably Boston or Philly going, but it wasn't a done deal. If anything, I think it's more of a done deal now than it was then, because having 1 stud means more now. You could bet a month's pay that GS and Cleveland are going this year and feel ok about it. Mavericks with Marc Aguire, Rolando Blackmon had some good teams too. What year did Milwaukee move to the East? Because they used to battle with Gervin's Spurs for the division. Fuck I'm old. Damn good question. I only remember them in the east, so I'd say late 70s, if they were battling Gervin's Spurs. |

After a day with a ton of trade speculation swirling around the status of Okafor, many people on the outside looking in expected an announcement. Nothing has happened thus far, but the trade negotiations between the Bulls and Sixers have continued to build steam. There are expectations that something will happen soon with Okafor playing elsewhere. NBA trade rumors started to fly once it was reported that the Sixers kept Okafor glued to the bench for Saturday night’s game against the Miami Heat. Keeping the second-year center on the bench (courtesy of CSN Philly) was a risky proposition given the fact that starting center Joel Embiid was out due to an injury. Okafor was giving the dreaded “did not play, coach’s decision” on Saturday because trade talks have heated up for the Sixers.

Boston had better be worried about the Raptors...Serge Ibaka has played contract year ball for them since the trade and once they get Lowry back they could go on a run... It was really dumb of Danny not to do anything...He didn't have to get a star, but he could have gotten someone to plug that hole up down low... |
