interlocking NFC South AFC East
Seattle Seahawks 12-4 The Seahawks change their offensive philosophy to a hybrid spread offense which takes pressure off a mediocre O-line and puts Russell Wilson front and center in making the offense run They actually started implementing this after Beast Mode and Rawls went down and Wilson tore it up. Add a top 3 defense to that and top notch special teams and the only worry is who is Russell's backup, at this point it's rookie UDFA Boykin and that is a dangerous way to go into the season Expect the losers in KC's back up battle to get a look here.
Arizona Cardinals 11-5 Is David Johnson the real deal?!? If he is these 2 teams could easily flip flop but sans injuries at QB these teams will be playing in January Holes on the O-line need to be filled but this is a high octane down field offense when it's running smooth and it's usually running just fine A pretty good D before the Cooper/Jones trade and the drafting of draft faller Nkemdiche bring the one thing missing from their D, inner pocket pressure and an end rush
Los Angeles Rams 7-9 If they are lucky offensively they may even go over 500 but it'll be the defense leading the way and they'll have to produce via Todd Gurley. Jared Goff if he does start this season couldn't have picked much worse of a sched with great D's in Seattle & Arizona 2X's New England Carolina very good Jets Bucs Bills Giants and Lions (last 1/2 of 2015 version )this puts pressure on the D to keep them close
San Francisco 49ers 5-11 Team Chip hard to say what happens here after the trainwreck in the wake of Jim Harbaugh leaving town Baalke has not been replacing the players that they've been losing at as fast a pace to even keep pace with the Rams although Chip will love his 1st round Ducks 2016's Buckner and 2015's Armstead gives them something to build around defensively but these guys are still a couple years and about a dozen contributors away minimum from being relevant
