The Broncos (12-4) won the West and of course, the SuperBowl last year. Both QBs from last year are gone now. Peyton has retired, Osweiller left for Houston, so the defending champs will turn to Mark Sanchez. Truth be told the Broncos won despite some pretty bad play from both QBs last year otherwise I would be having a nice chuckle over them signing Mr Buttfumble. I guess I am happy they didnt get someone better but he's no worse than what they had last year and they still have that nasty defense. I expect they will be very tough to beat again this year. The Chiefs and Raiders are both teams on the rise in the AFC. Due to some e-friendships with some KC folk, I kind of root for the Chiefs. I "like" them, but I believe Reid and QB Alex Smith limit how far they can go. You see something enough you have to believe it...And I always say the NFL is better when the Raiders are good so hopefully their young guys that look legit pan out and they finally turn that corner back to relevance. Chargers...welp...the only easy pick here, last place,moving...Sorry! I'll take the Broncos (painful to type) but it should be a pretty tight 3 way race.

Interlocking schedule NFC South AFC South
Kansas City Chiefs 11-5 This is a 3 way race that could easily be a 2 or 4 team race. A better game manager than 2015 Peyton a better offense with Charles back and not much of a drop off from the Broncos 2015 D. As for the Chiefs why not?!? Something should be said for consistency and continuity
Denver Broncos 10-6 No big drop off at QB, where some guy names Trevor Siemian may start for the defending champs, as the Broncos 2015 QBR was 31st but the inevitable losses SB teams get will keep them from being the dominant playoff team they were in 2015. The Paxton Lynch era will start in 2017
Oakland Raiders 9-7 Although I wouldn't be surprised by 10-6, or if the gods shine down on them 11-5.. Reggie McKenzie has totally rebuilt this team from the trainwreck left behind by Prince Val's dad Al Unlike the other extreme makeover in Jax this is a very tough division and making the playoffs will probably come down to the tiebreaker . This is a team on the rise and I expect to see them in the 1st or 2nd spot in the division for most of the near future
San Diego Chargers 6-10 Lots of talent on this team but no definitive strengths and a murky depth chart and tough division will keep the Bolts in the cellar again. Unless Gordon shows more decisiveness running the ball This will be a tough year for Philip Rivers and he doesn't have many seasons to go, the Bolts have to go all in to maximize his few remaining years or trade him and blow this up

The future is close at hand. I may be early... but the Raiders are ready to reclaim what is theirs.
Just Win Baby.

AFC WEST Denver Broncos
The Broncos will win their sixth consecutive division title.
Yes, the Chiefs believe they're better, the Raiders believe they're better, but unless either of those teams can solve the Broncos' defense enough to win a game in Denver, the Broncos will take the AFC West title again. Sure, that's bold with two quarterbacks on the roster who have yet to throw a pass in the regular season in Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch, but the Broncos' defense powered a championship run last season and returns nine starters and looks every bit the part once again. If their offense is even marginally better, the Broncos will rule the AFC West again. -- Jeff Legwold Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs will win their first AFC West championship since 2010.
If that isn't bold enough, the offense will lead the way. Quarterback Alex Smith will set a career best for touchdown passes -- the bar is currently a modest 23 -- and the play of the line will be another key factor. -- Adam Teicher Oakland Raiders
The Raiders will be in the playoffs for the first time since 2002.
Yes, go ahead, cue up your Jim Mora sound bites and revel in the news. The Raiders have an exciting young nucleus in place with the likes of QB Derek Carr, WR Amari Cooper and DE Khalil Mack and spent the offseason surrounding it with quality veteran free-agent signings such as LG Kelechi Osemele, OLB Bruce Irvin, CB Sean Smith and FS Reggie Nelson. The division is up for grabs, and with the Broncos' unsettled QB question, the Chiefs prone to slow starts and the Chargers, well, still the Chargers, it's time for a Raiders return to the postseason ... even if it's as a wild card. -- Paul Gutierrez San Diego Chargers
The Chargers will finish as a top-10 defense in 2016.
San Diego has not finished among the league leaders in total defense since 2010, when the Chargers led the league in total defense. But with the addition of nose tackle Brandon Mebane in free agency and finally signing rookie draft pick Joey Bosa, along with the continued development of cornerback Jason Verrett and linebacker Denzel Perryman, San Diego is primed to make noise on that side of the ball this season. -- Eric D. Williams

Trevor Siemian isn't winning a division......
Raiders won in Denver last year. Siemian's just a shorter version of Osweiller. But then again Raiders and Broncos don't play each other in Denver until Week 17, at which time I very much expect Siemian to be back holding a clipboard.
