Is it just me or am I correct in thinking that the Red Sox have given up on Daniel Nava? I mean they didn't use him last night and instead used Grady Sizemore.

He does seem to be on the outs for some reason. With the problems in the OF, and Napoli hurt, there was a good chance for playing time. However, they seem to be going and looking in another direction. Maybe they think Mookie Betts is closer to MLB than I think?

Also - let's not forget Carp got hurt as well and they are floundering with Nava and keeping him on the bench... Right now I think Betts is overrated (yes he is tearing it up in Triple A and had the fastest rise in Sox history but that doesn't equate to MLB experience... Look at JBJ... People were saying the same things about him as Betts, no? And yes... There is ample playing time for Nava and he isn't getting it... Sadly it looks like he either will be in pawtucket or used as trade bait.

Well last night it was a perfect opportunity to bring in Nava right (I am thinking he was on the bench) and instead they brought up Sizemore who did nothing!
I mean I get it he isn't the greatest hitter but he is a switch hitter and does play pretty good defense! Let's face it the Red Sox outfield isn't anything to write home to mom about in both aspects of the game (fielding and hitting)..

Nava is up solely because of injuries. When Vic and Carp get back, down he goes. Not sure what happened with him, but it appears it might be contagious.

However, he is better than Sizemore.. No? I don't think so. Sizemore seems really streaky. He'll have two or three games where he'll get multiple hits and then nothing for days at a time. I think Sizemore's D is better than Nava's but at least Nava can play first. Of course when Napoli gets back that option is off the table too.

Now if you want to talk about a streaky hitter, Napoli is that man!
