Ugh! Bad night. I was up in Wilkes-Barre watching the Baby Pens get their heads handed to them by the Hershey Bears. The score was 5 - 2 but the game wasn't that close. It was the second of back to back games and the Pens stuck this kid in the net who had just been called up from the Wheeling Nailers. He started out good, but then just started letting almost anything go by him. The Pens defense didn't help much either.
Big Pens didn't do much better, but in Washington facing elimination, I didn't think the Caps would lose. Hopefully the Pens can finish things in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
The Baby Pens are going to be playing golf pretty soon.

The isles scare me for some reason, but I think the Pens can match up well against the Bolts. |

The Penguins did everything they could to lose, but the Caps only scored one goal out of all that 5 on 3 opportunity. The Pirates had an announcer a long time ago, who, if the Pirates scored 5 runs in the bottom of the ninth and won 5 to 4. When the 5th run would cross the plate he would say, "And we had them alllllllllllll the way." That's what I'm saying now about the Pens. We had the Caps allllllll the way.  Bring on the Bolts! |

Here's something you might like BF.  I recall a very wise hockey prognosticator saying the Phil was going to disappear come playoff time. Just wanted to point out that "The Thrill" had 2 goals and an assist last night to help put the Caps away. Sid on the other hand . . . . . |

Loved the reaction of Holtby and some of the other Caps when they shook Murray's hand. He played great and its no wonder that Fluery is still on the bench.
