It is also related to the reason why I can't post there anymore, as I was poaching the best and brightest ( that I knew of, as a baseball only guy ) folks there, to get them to come here.
If I still had another venue to recruit from to bring here, I would.

Giants lose 4-3. Can't win em all. Now we need the pAAAdres to actually show up. with how the Brewers were batting (0-4 with less than 2 outs & runner on 3rd), I'm surprised they won. the sac fly helped and Jungmann did a good job in his replacement start of Garza who is out a lot longer than initially expected. great series, happy Milwaukee was able to pull out a W. looks like it'll be a LONG year for them. but Pena is already gone after giving up back-to-back-to-back HR in the season opener with Sam Freeman joining the squad. 2 lefties works a lot better than 1. the Padres, I believe, are the first team ever to start a season with 27 consecutive innings scoreless and the Dodgers are the 1st team in MLB history since 1900 to start a season off with 3 consecutive shutouts. in a Padre/Dodger/Giant related comment, Jake Peavy starts for SF tomorrow against LAD. with a 14-3 record and a 2.38 ERA in 29 career starts v LAD, it's the highest win total & lowest ERA among all active pitchers v LAD. will be a great first game & great series. Brewers get to meet Houston on Friday. Santana, Villar, Carter & GM Stearns all meet their former team. with how Houston is projected to finish this season, getting at least 1 win this series is a positive. |
