Apparently not as he had to give back some of his signing bonus. And do you really think people join the Army Rangers cause of the money they make. I'm pretty sure they're not going to throw away a whole bunch of money they could earn and then have to give back money they already earned on top of that The guy has $11.5 million due him this year as long as he shows up. He will show up. If they cut him he gets all of the guaranteed money around $12 million of which around four million must still be coming his way. The seahawks got a cap break last year for the spreading of the signing bonus. that does not go away. better they cut him and take a five million cap hit now then to pay out $11.5 for him in 2016. I say he shows up, he may ride the bike on the sideline a lot, but he will show up and force the seahawks to make their move. pay him $11+ million or the five they still owe him by cutting him and FA all over again for a year.

He has no bonuses this season or guaranteed money left if they designate him a post June 1st cut they will have a 2.5 dead money hit and 9M in savings. He will not retire as he would have to pay back his signing bonus as his extension that he received a signing bonus on doesn't even take effect till this upcoming season Lynch contract

He received a bonus on a 3 year contract. He retired after 1 year he owes them 2/3 of his bonus

Seattle still owes him if they cut him, so either he's going to play and make his full salary this season or he's going to get paid regardless and retire after getting cut.

No if they cut him Lynch is not obligated to return the signing bonus If he retires he is, but as you say pretty easy option for Lynch as to what to do. The Hawks will make him a post June 1st cut

Not just one year..http://www.inquisitr.com/2719034/seattle-seahawks-rumors-with-marshawn-lynch-cut-how-much-money-do-seahawks-save/ The Seahawks gave Lynch $12 million in guaranteed salary when he agreed to the two-year, $24 million extension. That includes $5 million in dead cap money for the 2016 NFL season and $2.5 million in dead cap money for the 2017 NFL season. The dead cap money counts against the team whether Lynch is on the roster or not. If the Seahawks decided to cut Lynch, the team would save $6.5 million in cap space in 2016 and about $10 million in cap space for 2017. With a number of needs during the NFL offseason, it’s certainly money the front office could use. If they cut him he will play again for a one year and get a pretty good contract I think. They are not an imposing offensive team by any means as it is. Lest we forget, the vikings shut them down and outplayed them. they can cut him all right, but that does not make them better.

Well, if he refuses to talk, then how would anybody know? Is he going to use that girl in the ad to announce it for him? Speech mode, boss!

No roster bonus in 2016 and no guaranteed money so no they don't have to pay him and if they release him as opposed to Lynch retiring than he gets to keep all the signing bonus he received from over the capMarshawn Lynch signed two year contract extension with the Seattle Seahawks on March 6, 2015. All details of the contract are currently based on a report by Pro Football Talk. Per PFT Lynch will receive a $7.5 million signing bonus and will be eligible for a $3 million roster bonus in 2017.

they still owe him some money off his salary for the season though, they don't get off without having to pay anything if they release him. he's still going to be getting paid regardless unless he retires.

Yes they do. The contract is paid basically per game He would get per diems for OTA's but he won't be there

Wow! He wasted no time announcing his intensions. weird timing in my opinion. right during the Super Bowl. I was thinking the same thing. You'd think he could've waited til Monday to announce and let the SB winner have their day.
