Jealous of our city's amazing accomplishments: -Brought Phil Jackson home to coach -Supported some guy's dead mother -showed incredibly resiliency in coming back from a SUPERstorm -Didn't let the terrorists win after 9/11 (that capitalist-inspired gift shop at the memorial was the icing) -Support a bankrupt Oregon bicycle company with our Citi-Bike program -Dick Clark's Robot on permanent display in Times Square every New Year's Eve -Fancy cupcake shops in every borough -Vanquished Bloomberg after only 12 years 2010 flyers got to the finals only to get smoked by a west coast team. they didnt need to give up two first round picks to do so. i will say though, it will be funny if they win the cup, their first season without tortarella. 4 people here just said "who's that" haha. |

yea with richards on the 4th line, with guys like kopitar and gaborik on the top line. im sorry for being mean, but you dont know much about hockey at all. richards is irrelevant with quick, doughty, and the others around him. Oh i'll be the first to admit I dont know as much about hockey as some here .... BUT, he was not irrelevant all year, as I said 4th in points for them during reg season. Avg Tim on Ice 4th highest average time on ice for the regular season (for offensive players) 7th in playoffs (for offensive players).... Last night played ONLY 10 MINS Clearly something has happened and he's losing time. Id still take him here, over Schenn and Simmons ... as schenn will be gone soon. So it was basically going to be a Richards for Simmonds trade 1. schenn wont be gone. hextall is going to do everything including licking his taint to keep him 2. simmonds + his contract >>>> richards and his contract. 3. thank god you arent an nhl gm lol. |

Yeah, I'm sure that 29th overall pick will turn in to a star in 5 years I dont even care about that ... TB won the trade IMO. BUT It doesnt make it a bad trade for the Rangers ... cant knock a team for making a move that is close to putting them into the SC Finals. We knock teams all the time for not going after it, why bash them for going all in? if you wanna say it wasnt a BAD trade for the rangers, but the lightning won the trade, i could probably agree to that. i still think 2 first round picks, with guys like richards and st louis being old and needing to be replaced are kind of important. |

2010 flyers got to the finals only to get smoked by a west coast team. they didnt need to give up two first round picks to do so. i will say though, it will be funny if they win the cup, their first season without tortarella. 4 people here just said "who's that" haha. Tortorella gets credit for helping build this team and instilling some grittiness. He gets the credit for the shot blocking that has continued since he left. Most of the credit goes to Sather who has drafted well over the last 5+ years. Some of his free agent signings have been a bust but they have quite a few draft picks making an impact now and a few more that were traded away. |

I'm pretty sure he played over 30 minutes last night But he is a turnover machine and terrible skater. I know he's got a hell of a shot, but he did not impress me at all. The Rangers are an extremely fast team though, they were winning every race to the puck. They would just dump it in and go take it from them. |

i will talk about whatever i want i am the king of bitter, and can sniff it out. you cant hate a city and be happy for their success I'm not happy for the Rangers success necessarily. But I would have been really pissed off of Montreal have one. New york: winning does not piss me off in this particular sport. yup this is the one NY thing that we dont care about |
