LOL - As bad as that is Otis I know a 2-7 team that don't have a President or a GM. The Lions are lucky.

Wonder if that's towner they're trying to talk off jumping off the Ambassador Bridge Ha ha...I don't carry a smartphone and I was watching Michigan then Mi State at a friend's house when this was going on... But for real, you WILL have to talk me off jumping from the Ambassador Bridge if this Wood guy does not stay out of the football part of the operation. I know that it is Sheldon White making the comments about "not having to rebuild", but by not silencing this buffoon, Wood is in essence agreeing with what he states. So, as much as I hate to say it, with what I have seen up until now, Wood staying out of the football part of the job is not going to be the case. Because if it was, he would not be making ANY statements about what kind of shape the team is other than to brief the media on how him and the experienced, skilled and not from the current organization GM that they hire plan to navigate both the cap mess that Lewand has left as some kind of twisted legacy and the disastrous accumulation of piss poor draft picks by Mayhew. But instead the idiot will probably make Sheldon White the GM at the end of the season. Ah, the intoxicating elixir of two freak wins in a row when you started 1-7...

And the only statement he should make. Now get busy prepping on Sal Cap 101 and throw away any lingering work that may have been left behind by Lewand. In fact, have a pig roast and burn every trace of any of it. Pr0t0 would probably add - put Mayhew on the spit with the hog!

The Lions have hired Ernie Accorsi to advise them on who will be their next GM. Smart move. He is the guy that made the Giants a world better during his time there. Wish he was still the GM. Do not be surprised if a guy named Ross , now working for the Giants, gets the job. He could replace Reese as Giants GM today if owned the frickers.

That my friend, is a real smart move and I'll give Martha Ford props on that. If Mark Ross gets the job, I'll be doing cartwheels. Of course, she could have let Billy Ford Junior expound on the virtues of bringing in a "seasoned NFL analyst" like Cris Collinsworth to get the job...LOL

It just would not take that much for them to be a 10 win team next year. The salary cap should be around $150 million next year so FA can fill some needs and a decent draft does the rest. Honestly, the Packers window looks like it is closing on them, the Bears are not better than the Lions and the Vikings are risers, but no sure bet for anything going forward. The NFC is mostly teams that blow with the wind, good and bad, the only thing they do consistently. Accorsi , of course, recommends people he knows personally. Ross would be a solid choice.

Gosh, isn't it? First they lose at home to an abysmal Lions team for the first time in 24 years then and the Bears beat them (again at home, mind you) for only the second time in 13 tries with Cutler at QB. All in a three game window!
