I'm a little torn on this. On the one hand "We" pretty much created this problem or at the least, made it even worse...So I do feel for the innocent people getting run out of their homes and living in fear. That is awful. On the other hand, we have our own Vets and citizens already here that also could use some help. If we have our own vets homeless on the streets I dont see how we can take in and support 1000's of refugees. Take care of our own first! Also not sure I trust the gov't to not let in the bad guys with the innocent refugees
Thoughts? (and it's OK if you disagree with me! )

Eight of the nine involved in the Paris attacks were citizens of France or Belgium and not from Syria. Home grown. No law can deal with that. The bigger question to me is how come the GOP will not vote on a law put forth by the Democrats to refuse to allow gun sales to the thousands on the the " watch list " we already have? The NRA has opposed it in the past and says they will fight it in the future. That makes Noooo sense. block refugees because of fears they may do bad things once here, but all the sale of firearms to those here that are on a watch list? That is nuts!

I struggled with this as well. If a Muslim family wanted to integrate into my society, pay taxes and generally contribute, I have no issues with it, bring it on. If a Muslim family takes everything we have to offer then demands that we change in order to accommodate them, then the the door's over there.
Culturally, the differences are vast. Muslims do not consider women to be equals as we do and many of their clerics advocate the stoning of women as a just and right punishment for transgressions against their religion. This they do openly here in North America. It surprises me that more woman's groups don't complain about this.
Germany welcomed over a million migrants citing humanitarian obligations and on New Years they were paid back for their hospitality by enduring migrant rape gangs.
I simply don't think that a culture that has shown a lack of evolution seemingly beyond 700AD can effectively integrate into western society despite how badly I feel for those families. Yes, bring some in, but keep the numbers small. Germany is making a huge mistake!
My 2 bits for what it's worth.

The right to bear arms is to protect oneself. An automatic weapon is not a defensive weapon it is an assault rifle and should be SEVERELY screened. And that should take far more than a week
