The 2007 Patriots, as you might have heard, went 16-0 during the regular season only to lose the SB. The 2015 team is 8-0 and their is plenty of chatter about them running the table. So how does this team stack up to the '07 team that came up just short? Vote/discuss,,,

When this season began, my buddy (Redskins fan) made a bold prediction. He said "mark my words - the Patriots aren't going to lose a game this season. They're pissed".
Kinda hard to argue with him right now. They look like a group of men who are focused solely on the task of each game... one at a time... TCOB... No distractions... no talk...
I've come around. I don't know how you or the rest of Patriots Nation compare the 07 team to this one Zig... but from a distance, this team is the true definition of "team" - one on a decided mission. And as much as haters hate to admit it, it begins with the coach and QB. I don't see any flash or blather or noise... just a bunch of guys going to work every Sunday with one MASSIVE chip on their collective shoulders.
I'm with my buddy.

That 2007 team was the most stacked team they had. Brady was younger and although Julian Edelman is a good weapon, Randy Moss was a much bigger threat. On the other hand, Gronkowski is a big leap over Benjamin Watson at TE. The 2007 defense was better, I think. Tedy Bruschi, Richard Seymour, Vince Wolfork and certainly Rodney Harrison are better players than the players at their positions than their contemporaries.
Brady is the best he has ever been though, even including that monster 2007 campaign. He reads defenses even better and is generally more consistent at finding open guys in short to mid range. This sustains drives with a degree of consistency that is better than 2007.
Still, for "shock and awe", I think 2007 is more imposing. Remarkably I still give this offense more props than that one. The difference that makes 2007's edition better is the defense. The final answer will be revealed the next few months.

I think it's too early to compare but it's being done so...why not ha ha. Also think it was a much better debate before they lost Dion Lewis. That one hurts. I do think the offense now is harder to defend and the D is much younger than the '07 team and should hopefully keep improving. By about week 3 in 2007 a lot of people were already calling them maybe the best team ever and predicting perfection. I dont think they are that far ahead of the other top teams this year. They also havent faced the quality of teams they did in '07 so it's even harder to say. They only have maybe 3 games left with teams that have a decent chance to beat them starting with the Giants tomorrow. Get by Denver in 2 weeks(toughest game by far imo) still perfect and I'd say it's real strong possibility they run the table in the reg season again.
