Welllll, if it ain't Mr. Hi-Falutin Hoopla Moderator hisself! Enjoyed watching Yasiel Puig last night. Amazing what that guy can do on the field considering everything he's gone through off of it. If only he can keep his head on straight, he could be something really special. BUT, he still has a lot of maturing to do.

I forgot to talk to you about Dan Haren the other day...Compared to what he did last year with the Nats, you guys got a steal...I know he got roughed up in his last start... I don't know that Dan Haren is any better this year than he was in 2012 and 2013. His stats this year are being inflated by his starts in Dodgfer Stadium, which is about as big as Yellowstone Park. His road WHIP and BAA are atrocious. I don't think you will ever see this guy return to the form he displayed from 2005-2011. And last year with the Nats, Haren's ERA and WHIP were way out of sync. A guy with a WHIP like his last year should have had an ERA about 1.00 lower. Yeah, I didn't look that far into it...Just looked at his record, ERA and last 5 starts after the Nats game that he lost...He was really good that day...Didn't see a lot of games where he gave up 5 ER over 6 IP...

Mets right-hander Matt Harvey spoke to Tom Verducci of the Sports Illustrated about his recovery from Tommy John elbow surgery and said he wanted to return to the majors in August to make 5-7 starts down the stretch, but general manager Sandy Alderson quickly made it clear that the team isn’t going to let that happen.
August would be just 10 months after the surgery and the typically recovery timetable is 12-18 months, which is why Alderson said this to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York:
Not being a medical doctor and not really faced with that decision previously, I’ll reserve judgment. But the one thing we don’t want to do is be put in a situation where someone–Matt, or anyone else–has a setback because we’ve pushed the natural recovery processes further than we should have.

Nah, that's just you going super-stealth mode That conversation with Rock yesterday was an alltime classic. That dude absolutely will not admit when he is wrong. Ever. No matter what.
I have no use for people like that. None.

Absolutely no benefit to the team in him coming back that soon, and most likely no personal benefit to him as well. It feels like a dueling press-release thing; keep fans somewhat interested in the possibility that he'll be back this year, but he won't be. Think Wheeler might need the surgery next. That boy ain't right.

Yahoo - A Texas teenager is facing five years to life in prison for allegedly baking and selling pot brownies. Jacob Lavoro, a 19-year-old from Round Rock, Texas, was charged with a first degree felony because he used hash oil instead of marijuana, allowing the state to weigh the brownies as a whole — including the sugar, cocoa, butter and other ingredients — to calculate the weight of the drugs. Police searched Lavoro’s apartment, where they allegedly found 660 grams — or 1.45 pounds — of baked goods (six bags of cookies, nine bags of brownies) along with 16 ounces of marijuana and $1,675 in cash. “I’ve been doing this 22 years as a lawyer and I’ve got 10 years as a police officer and I’ve never seen anything like this before,” Jack Holmes, Lavoro’s attorney, told KHON-TV. “They’ve weighed baked goods in this case. It ought to be a misdemeanor.” Hash oil, classified as a “Penalty 2″ controlled substance under Texas law, contains a higher concentration of tetrahydrocannabinol or THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. The teen’s father, Joe Lavoro, called the possibility of his son spending life behind bars for a hash brownie recipe “outrageous.” “Five years to life? I’m sorry, I’m a law abiding citizen. I’m a conservative. I love my country. I’m a Vietnam veteran, but I’ll be damned,” Lavoro said. “This is illogical. I’m really upset, and I’m frightened, I’m frightened for my son.” Lavoro was arrested on April 15 and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of the illegal hash oil and sale of the hash-infused cookies and brownies. He was held in Williamson County Jail and released on May 7 on a $30,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for June 19. “It’s crazy,” Lavoro told KEYE. “I don’t understand it.” Neither do pot advocates, who say the possible punishment doesn’t fit the crime. “That’s higher than the punishment range for sexual assault, higher than the punishment range for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon,” Jamie Spencer, legal counsel for NORML’s Texas chapter, told KUTV. “It’s kind of crazy.” “This case is the perfect example of the insanity of Texas’ drug laws,” Spencer added. “Especially when it comes to marijuana or anything where the active ingredient is THC.”

That boy ain't right. He is still a kid. He is still in the instant gratification stage of his life. He does not see the big picture nor his longterm future. He just wants to get back on the pitching mound. i understand that mindset, but someone in the Mets organization needs to look out for his better interests.

I wonder how long it will take them to execute him if he ends up guilty?

fuck the rigged-ass NBA draft lottery! I'm sure somebody on the board has a cousin who works for the assistant to the undersecretary of the commissioner's office who has been in the secret rooms when they've decided which team is getting the number one pick each season, and they can confirm that it's rigged

I just checked and it doesn't look like Self is banned "over there"..what did he do to get Pickles wrath? I drank a lot last night, but if memory serves: Self displayed a brief wall of text that said "Random Sports" Buccs then called for punitive action, whether seriously or not I couldn't determine Pickles then said Self would have a 30 minute ban, which he later said had been completed it doesn't seem as if Self has been heard from since. I can imagine he's having a good long cry about it, if I know Self. Which I don't.
