Elbow Injury Sends Lee to DL
Another day, another frontline starter heading to the disabled list with elbow problems.
The Phillies will place Cliff Lee on the disabled list Wednesday after an MRI revealed a Grade 1/2 strain of the flexor tendon in his left elbow. Lee originally felt soreness in the elbow during an April 16 start versus the Braves, and the discomfort returned during Sunday’s outing against the Reds. The MRI was ordered after he still felt sore while playing catch on Monday.
"We're going to be cautious with him, and there's no reason to try to push it," general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. told MLB.com. "Hopefully he's going to be ready by the time the DL's over."
While the Phillies are hopeful that Lee will be ready to go when his 15 days are up, it’s hardly a given. The veteran left-hander will be shut down for a week before attempting to resume a throwing program.
"I hope so," Lee said when asked if he could return after a minimum DL stint. "I've never had anything like this. [Doctors and trainers] seem to think that without throwing for a week it should be quite a bit better. I don't know if it's going to be gone. We don't really know till you get there."

Pickled in Picladelpia.

I saw that McD's corp issued a statement that the red happy meal box has been "beloved by children and families in South America and Europe since 2009." Well, this is AMERICA, jack. We don't like talking commie boxes

Speaking of communists, Pickled kicked Self off of Pickles' House of Rainbow Lollipops and Unisex Undergarments yesterday. Self has not returned since, If he ran Self off, I'm putting a hit out on Pickled. All I have to do is place the order at Marvin Harrison's garage, and it's a done deal.

She tends to get orgasmic when I talk to her about Salsalido watershed rehabilitation.

Amazing what that guy can do on the field considering everything he's gone through off of it.

Amazing what that guy can do on the field considering everything he's gone through off of it. If only he can keep his head on straight, he could be something really special. BUT, he still has a lot of maturing to do.

I don't know that Dan Haren is any better this year than he was in 2012 and 2013. His stats this year are being inflated by his starts in Dodgfer Stadium, which is about as big as Yellowstone Park. His road WHIP and BAA are atrocious. I don't think you will ever see this guy return to the form he displayed from 2005-2011. And last year with the Nats, Haren's ERA and WHIP were way out of sync. A guy with a WHIP like his last year should have had an ERA about 1.00 lower.
