Lordy lordy.
You'd think it was simply "Harbaugh" taking on Utah.
Being from 'round SE Michigan, I am very excited for the season to begin and to see how much of an impact that new coach "Whassisname" will have on my favorite collegiate team.
But temper things with reality.
1) Michigan State still has easily the best program in the state as I type this.
2) Ohio State still likely has the best program in the country as I type this.
3) Just winning 8 games will represent significant progress this year.
Finally, I will not log into to "Khaki Cam" during this evening's game.
Go BLUE!

Utah 10, Michigan 3 Halftime.
U-M QB Jake Rudock (eligible grad transfer from Iowa) is having a tough time throwing the long ball.
Not once but twice he had Jevu Chesson 7 -10 yards past the defender on long balls, and he overthrew badly both times. Add in two ugly picks and Rudock looks like a bad "pick" so far. But the Wolverines running game is in its infancy under the new coach, so we'll see how it develops.
U-M defense outstanding. Holding Devontae Booker to nearly nothing but Utah QB Travis Wilson is badly outplaying his U-M counterpart so far...

Think QB play isn't HUGE?
Rudock just threw a pick 6 for U-M. Add it up. 3 turnovers all on Rudock. 2 missed potential easy TDs.
On the road to boot. Just taking the two missed TD chances plus the pick 6 into account = 18 points lost by U-M.
This is a fifth year senior?
Better improve REAL FAST. 24-10 Utah COULD have and SHOULD have been 24-17 U-M. COULD have SHOULD have is for losers.
Plus the U-M D held Booker to near nothing.
SUCKS again to be a Michigan fan.

I hear you Swampy but how is that Huskies thing going? Or been going for the last several years. Its definitely not Bo vs Don James any more is it? There's a coach that never got his due in national discussion regarding the top coaches in the nation... Yes I feel your pain and yes Don James is an icon up here and should be elsewhere. Our excuse is, 'How do you compete with Phil Knight?' What's yours? Ours is competing with the vile spewing Buckeye nation especially since old Urb got there. Last I looked Buckeye nation was always a threat now the Spartans are better. That's like the Cougs being better than the Huskies the Beavers being better than the Ducks or Cal being the best team in California Sark started to get Udub back on track, jury is still out on Peterson Good luck to the Huskies and good job vs Boise State last night. Yes, Ohio State has been a perennial monster, but they blew chicken choads prior to Tressel and especially Meyer. Oh how I miss the days when John Cooper's teams would always choke in the last game in November. |

It sounds like it is harder for you to deal with the Ducks than even me to deal with OSU. Most folk from Ohio that I have met are pretty cool unless you venture down yonder, God forbid you are wearing any Lions colors or especially U-M! Then you know ya had better watch yer proverbial back. |
