pretty messed up deal with the Dodgers...that new TV deal is really screwing the local fans A metaphysical question, with a slight twist: If a baseball game is played and no one can see it on TV, does the baseball game really count? The standings say yes. The statistics agree. And yet to the greater Los Angeles area, 70 percent of whom cannot watch the Dodgers in the comfort of their homes, they might as well not exist. The most expensive team money can buy is also the most expensive mistake in the short history of wildly overpriced, patently absurd local-television-rights deals. For an estimated $8.3 billion, Time Warner Cable bought the rights to the Dodgers and created SportsNet LA. Time Warner then suggested to cable and satellite providers that they pay at least $4 a month to carry the channel, a fee they would pass along to subscribers. Every one of them kindly told Time Warner to suck a lemon, and so here we are, with the most popular baseball team in the game's second-biggest media market practically blacking itself out on account of its own efforts to fatten its pockets. lot more here: sports.yahoo.com/news/10-degrees--dodgers-and-their-crazy-tv-deal-top-mlb-s-biggest-disappointments-053835872.html

That Dodger thing is fucked up. If a local ordered MLB extra innings, they would be able to watch the Dodger home games, wouldn't they? The Dodger org can't black out games that are part of the extra inning package, can they?

I will hope for Dodger fans in L.A, that this mess gets straightened out, and sooner than later.

Sometimes I wish they would ban Braves games around here when they CAN'T HIT THE BROAD SIDE OF A BARN WITH A BASEBALL BAT! like they are now.

Boredom. Lack of people or posts How's it going BigD? Has the Magic worn off with the Dodgers yet? I would say no. But, then again, I did not think they were magic going into this season. I do think they will end up as the class of the N.L West before all is said and done, and that is good enough for me.

I noticed in my newfound fandom of the Nats that just making the playoffs is a pretty big deal in the MLB...Anything can happen from that point, a lot more of a toss-up like the Stanley Cup playoffs are when you compare them to the NFL and NBA playoffs... Outside of the series earlier this year (which the Nats would have swept if Clayton could have sit down for a few more days), the only time I hear about the Dodgers out here is when Puig does something stupid...I notice from Zig's first post that the Dodgers fans have an issue actually seeing their team play on TV...Wow...

A glaring flaw or massive oversight in this T.V contract. And, I am actually surprised it is still ongoing, thinking that the powers that be would have fixed this by now. As for the team itself, I feel that they Dodgers will be doing more winning in the next 6-8 weeks, based on whon they play schedule wise.

They've got some bumps and bruises too with some key cogs in Hudon and Pagan. Posey also looks like he could use a day off as he's been slumping bad. Not a huge fan of his in general, but Puig is an absolute beast. If he's finally put it all together.....dear God. I'm nervous that the Dodgers are gonna wake up soon.....let the sleeping giant rest.....

Btw, finally some west coast baseball talk! Dont know how long itll last, but thank God. Only 6 more minutes today, as I am a 8 a.m - 5 p.m poster myself. How long I remain an active poster here though is going to be determined by traffic, as I need a good amount to keep me interested. But, for the time being, I should be good to go, and am willing to discuss all things baseball. Maybe now though would be a bad time to announce that I myself am a Dodger fan. Albeit, one who has lived in the Bay Area for the last 30 years, so I am well versed on all things Giants and A's as well.

Yup, I know who you are, you frequented the Giants Hoopla board for my last month or two there. You seem like a good guy, no trolling, just baseball. Have a good one.
