Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Dodgers are “talking to” the Red Sox about a trade for outfielder Alejandro De Aza, whom Boston acquired from Baltimore two months ago.
De Aza can play all three outfield spots, potentially freeing rookie utility man Enrique Hernandez to step in for the injured Howie Kendrick at second base.
De Aza struggled in Baltimore, but has hit .313 in 53 games for Boston and his overall .273 batting average and .782 OPS in 83 games this season are pretty close to his combined .271 AVG and .747 OPS from 2011-2014. He’s a solid player, especially when spotted mostly versus right-handed pitching.
