I spent last evening at my grandson's HS team's scrimmage (he banged up a knee but it doesn't appear life threatening unlike another kid who looks like an ACL casualty). But the Giants looked as bad last week as the Redskins looked Thursday night. Really bad.

Good for your grandson and too bad for the other kid. Hopefully the other kid's knee turns out to be something less than a tear!

that's what is thought after first testing, still awaiting MRI. it didn't look that bad and he was walking normally to the locker room. so if it is a torn ACL, it's a minor tear. but we've had TJ Lang walk off, Randall was carted off and Rodgers had his throwing wrist/forearm heavily wrapped

After hearing that the field at Levi Stadium is reminiscent of Candlestick's kitty litter right now... along with the events in Pittsburgh this afternoon, I would be fine with every single 2014 Cowboys starter sitting this game out.

Sorry dyhard Jordy Nelson - torn ACL Davante Adams just moved up about 8-10 rounds in FF drafts a lot of WR moved up in FF drafts. they're DEEP at WR. while taking away Nelson is a big blow, when you look at the roster - Cobb, Adams, Janis, etc that WR core is deep. plus, Rodgers can make it happen with whoever catching the ball. the only team who scares me in the NFC is Seattle, especially with them acquiring Jimmy Graham this off-season, just makes their weapons more dangerous. but Raji is back this year, they have Clinton-Dix with a year under his belt, Randall coming in looking real impressive, that whole DL/LB core looking strong. this Packers' team is deep all-around, they're definitely making a major push for the Super Bowl we'll see what the results are for Nelson. in all reality, I think he'll miss a total of about 6-8 wks, get him back around wk 6. if it's worse than what I'm thinking - and how it looked - he could miss most of the season. the one thing that needs to be taken care of is this talk about Clay Matthews and his interview. basically, he said he wasn't feeling 100% so he didn't play v Seattle in the playoffs last year. that's a major problem, he said he was thinking of #1 - himself - over the team. I just hope he and the rest of the team put that behind them and focus on this season and what Matthews did last year doesn't happen again this season, for any game.

I don't know if you heard Aaron Rodgers after the game, but he's said that in order to fully prepare for the regular season, he wouldn't need to take 1 snap in the pre-season and he thinks they're unnecessary games. I agree, if you're going to have pre-season, have 2 games. 1 home, 1 road. leave it at that. my dad said when he was growing up, there was 6. that's ridiculous. and for a couple seasons now, I've been seeing that 4 is kind of ridiculous. starts play a couple drives the 1st game. they play the whole 1st and a little 2nd quarter in the 2nd game. in the 3rd game they play until half time. 4th game is a couple drives if that. these games are mainly for the back-ups. play 2 games, they're ready. they've had plenty of time in training camp. no need to force these 4 games - or 5 for 2 teams with the HOF game.

Didn't hear Rodgers, but yesterday Aikman ripped the whole 4 game concept of preseason. He sarcastically said "Oh yeah - it's for the fans..." (the NFL Mantra) before stating correctly that the fans don't give one shit about these worthless games. Basically reiterated what you quoted from Rodgers. And - I remember the 6 preseason games. All too well. It's nothing more than a money grab by the NFofL and a damn stupid one.

All too well. It's nothing more than a money grab by the NFofL and a damn stupid one. fans used to care, like 5 years ago. the amount people pay attention to games anymore is going down and down. this year, I didn't even know when Family Night was for the Packers. the first year in I don't know how long. me and my parents used to watch pre-season games, Packers and whatever other game we could catch. now we watch like 3 quarters or until we get bored and turn it off of the Packers. that's it. I'll watch whatever is on just because it's football honestly, but I hardly pay attention once the starters are out of non-Packers games. the injuries are just an added strength to the argument that pre-season is meaningless. I don't know what Aikman had all said, didn't hear him, but Rodgers also noted that he's disappointed that they lost Nelson in a meaningless, unnecessary game that's irrelevant in everybody, including the players, eyes.

Read about the Giants struggles last night. Can't imagine 50 would be happy about that. A quarter and a half and THAT was the result? Gonna be a long year for my friends in the Meadowlands wearing the Blue. True. they just are not good enough , and that is even if they were all healthy. Jerry Reese does not draft well an dhis free agent bargain basement backups suuuck! those two superbowls were on Accorsi, he drafted those defensive lineman that made the difference.

Left the game last night with a shoulder that looked like he might sit awhile. Good news is it doesn't seem to be anything serious and he's good to go for Week 1.
