This truly makes me sick . i completely get why they made a lottery type system-when a team like the Sabres(management not the players) deliberately choke they don't deserve the first pick. BUT - they need to add a caveat where no single team gets to pick first more than once every five years.

Maybe McDavid will pull a Lindros and refuse to go! I guess he could return to the Otters for another season, but he's NHL ready now and that would be a lot of money to turn down for an 18 yr old and at risk of an injury that could jeopardize his future. |

I expect you're right, and he'll get a lot of playing time there he wouldn't get with a stronger team. The Oilers are just such a fucked up franchise though. |
