Reports are a one year deal at $3M. Honestly - I didn't see that happening. Even with a million of that incentive-based... I didn't see two for the guy.
The good news - Lee is now WOLB - where he should be. With Hitchens solidifying his spot at SOLB, Cowboys can look at filling needs in the secondary and D-Line early in the draft.

I know he visited with the Pats. Never heard if they made an offer or not.

He was pretty good for the Boys last year wasn't he? I know Swamp had him as his "Come back player" of the year....Seems like a cheap enough deal.

The problem isn't on the field for him. The reality is he's one failed test from a four game suspension... and the issues surrounding the arson of his place in Alabama is still a little sketchy. He hasn't been implicated by any means... but I'm still a little uncomfortable with that not being resolved.
From what I read, the money between NE and Dallas was about the same... he just felt more comfort with Marinelli and the scheme. I honestly didn't see him getting $3M... but good for him. And - as long as he can stay on the field - good for us too.

Perhaps he can repeat what he did last year for the Boys, in which case good for him. But I'm going to remain skeptical. But look on the bright side - you guys already signed Chimdi Chekwa thereby already fulfilling your yearly quota of ex-Al Davis draft picks.

Just sucks "We" lost some key guys and did very little besides save $$$ so far...Under 3 mil seemed reasonable for a starting quality player but again, forgot he was on thin ice with the league.

Good for McClain to be loyal to the team that gave him a shot. Would have been easy to move over to the Patriots, so maybe he's learning something.

So Otis you think the Jones pick means that the Boys say goodbye to Carr post June 1st

And I still believe he was Gronk came back from being a injured Pro Bowler to being a recuperated Pro Bowler. McClain came back from being unemployed to being the lynchpin of a Dallas D renaissance. Yeah they ended iup only being a fair to middling D but with Lee they were projected by many to be the worst D in NFL history that is a far bigger jump to me But the media loves Gronk, Rolo not so much

So Otis you think the Jones pick means that the Boys say goodbye to Carr post June 1st Tough call. $12.7M hit this season would be reduced by $8M post-June 1 but $7.43 hit in '16. And - it's not like we're dripping CB's down here. Yet - the logic of cutting him, signing Scandrick and starting Jones out of the gate has to be crossing the minds at Valley Ranch. Me - I'd cut his ass. He's not worth his salary and he insists he won't take a pay cut.If you think you will get a healthy pass rush with the new additions - roll with the rookie back there.

If I were a GM I'd put my defensive resources into the D-Line first. If you can dominate the LOS every play then it doesn't matter who's playing defensive back and linebacker. Not to mention having more wiggle room this year to get Dez signed... and maybe Frederick.

Not to mention having more wiggle room this year to get Dez signed... and maybe Frederick. I think Dallas is making the right moves. I'll never understand how Marinelli turned that defense around with that cast of players but they seemed to be making all the right moves. And as much as I view a team that continually harbors the Michael Irvin's, pacman jones, Greg hardys, dez Bryant's, etc of the NFL to be a level of scuz, I think more teams should consider their approach. You hire a some guys who can mentor them and keep them straight. It doesn't hurt your salary cap. Not doing so because you don't want the headache in many ways is just lazy. They can even put a positive spin on it and they we believe in giving jus second chances and helping men grow and succeed on and off the field - even if it's mostly bullshit. Remember Dez's draft? NO ONE wanted to touch him! He was a mess. The Deion thing... his family history... Jeff Ireland asking him if his mom had been a prostitute... Jerry rolled the dice (Cowboy Dave and I were doing high fives across the FN Cowboys forum the rest of that afternoon) and put the mentor structure in place to help him. One name to remember here... Charles Haley. Dude talks openly about his bipolar issues and how he overcame them. I promise you - Jerry has already reached out to Charles. Randy Gregory couldn't ask for a better roll model.

You mean this guy According to author Jeff Pearlman the "Last Naked Warrior," was a nickname that Charles Haley gave himself. If ever there was a story that truly exemplified locker room insanity, this is it. Haley repeatedly whipped out his erection and jerked off inches from the faces of unsuspecting teammates who initially laughed off the trauma. Because, that has to be a joke, right? If you don't get it, it's because you don't get high art. Eventually it got to a point where he'd pull it out in front of Golden Great Joe Montana and say "You know you want to suck this." He would even bash his candle to ejaculation in team meetings while talking about his teammates wives. His penis wasn't the only thing he strangled during film sessions as he choked coach George Siefert in a 1991 transgression that finally seemed to alert the brass. In that same year he pissed on the floor of team president Carmen Policy. Add that to the fact that he got into a physical confrontation with Steve Young, finally, causing him to be traded to an unsuspecting locker room of Dallas Cowboys. While in Texas, Haley questioned a new teammate in the crudest terms possible by saying "You’re from California? You must be a fucking faggot.” At that point Haley whacked off in front of the man to reaffirm his own heterosexuality. Yeah he oughta be a great role model for Gregory

Good on him He is tireless in his Bipolar awareness and Leukemia awareness efforts down here. And his interviews are as genuine as anyone can imagine. It's day-to-day with Bipolar as anyone who is around someone with it knows first hand. And - from what I read, he is already "plugged in" with Randy Gregory. That can't be anything but good for the kid.
