Reserve/Suspended- This listing is for players who have been suspended by the NFL. Players on the suspended list are not paid for their time suspended, do not count against the active 53, and their salaries are reduced to reflect the weeks they are suspended. For example Justin Blackmon of the Jaguars will see his base salary drop from 17 games of pay to just 13 games of pay. Players can also have their signing bonuses reduced due to forfeiture provisions in the CBA. In the case of drug suspension this is mandatory. In other cases teams will determine if they will go after bonus money. I am unsure if this forfeiture is accrued during of after the season, but will try to clarify at a later date. While suspended the cap charges count in full. |

March 2 is the drop dead date on using the Franchise and/or Transition tag designations. So yeah - it's pretty close. What is interesting is that this Dez issue isn't being reported on by anyone but the source above. And the Cowboys aren't saying anything. |

And they have no knowledge (Baltimore had 'no knowledge' of the Ray Rice video even though it's been well reported their entire front office watched it)... Dez is allegedly ranting on Twitter for people to shut up about it Sounds like a coverup In the works to me. Jerry Jones and Roger Goodell would both benefit from paying someone to shut up and not release such a video. I'm leaning towards it exists but will never reach the public just like all the SpyGate videos Per Florio, “all of the major insiders” have known about this video for months, but, for now, it remains out of the public eye. |

Adam Schefter is a complete drizzle bag. He was an air bag on NFLN and he isn't much better in espen. Anyone remember several years ago when every damn credible reporter was stating "he who shall not be named" was retiring while Schefter was reporting on air at the HOF game that Favre was on an private jet with his agent enroute to Minnesota? Dude's useless to me.
Latest scuttlebutt I see this morning is from "a source" who is noting the following;
- Dez did not assault his pregnant GF in this supposed video. Entirely made up. (I had heard this rumor which was dumb in that the supposed incident occurred in 2011 and it was just announced in the past week she was with child)
- according to plugged in people, the vid is of someone resembling Dez playing 'the knockout game' in 2011 in Walmart. Here's where the story forks: some are claiming that Dez's pals took the vid on camera phone and are now extorting him. Possible considering his cryptic tweets. Others are claiming his then agent (and or Jerry) bought silence out of the victim and Walmart, and Dez's ex agent stopped paying the victim after being replaced. Less likely, as that agent would be dragged through the mud too.
The second point tends to be in sync with Dez's comments yesterday about needing "a real raw uncut TV show or something..." and "I can't continue to get betrayed like this". I genuinely hope that's the case. The kid has grown up the last few years. Sometimes - your buddies don't.

So much for a video that would be five times worse than Ray Rice. Lancaster PD has no video... Walmart has no video... and the police report is pretty cut and dry.
Time to get Dez signed... or go ahead and tag him. What sucks about all this is I don't see any way Demarco stays now unless they redo Romo's contract. And - they do NOT need to do that and mess with all the work they've done digging themselves out of Salary Cap hell.
And - draft Melvin Gordon.

The allegations and insinuations seem libelous to me. And he could even claim that it's cost him millions in contract negotiations with the Cowboys. Somehow I feel like there's some loophole that allows lazy journalists to get away with this kind of half-assed reporting. But they really should be held to higher standards; holding them responsible for this case kind of BS hype is a good place to start. Don't know... but I'm pretty certain Dez will get paid. Problem is - so will Schfeter, Florio and Rappaport. |

DeMarco Murray is a good back but I don't see any reason why Dallas should break the bank to bring him back. He's not a top five back IMO. Probably not even a top ten. Just ran behind the best set of bulldozers in the league. Murray's backup, Joseph Randle, averaged 6.7 yards per carry. With that offensive line they just need a guy who can run through arm tackles and/or make the first guy miss. There's two or three starting calibre backs in this draft. Smart money would be to let Murray walk. Indeed (Un). Let some dummies like Detroit pay for what he has already done. Backs coming off that number of carries are almost never as good again after. Many drop off precipitously... |
