Looking for nominations for our next debate/poll. Who was the greatest coach of the pre-Super Bowl era? So far we have: Lombardi Lambeau Halas Brown Hands down winner. Not even close. George Halas. Lombardi just did not have enough years in to compete in this category. And I do not see any post superbowl head coach ever coming close to matching the man. HC DaBears from 1933- 1967. How does anyone beat that? Halas Record....8 NFL Championships (1921, 1933, 1940, 1941, 1946, 1963 as Head Coach) 318 NFL Wins. Lambeau is a distant second. 22 NFL wins. 6 championships- one of those was during the war years when the sisters of the blind and one armed bandits made up your roster. Note: It was so hard to put ambulatory men on the field that the Eab\gles and Steelers combined their teams and called them the " Steegles,"

And he still dominated.
Yeah - the line forms behind Mr. Halas.

Halas had the advantage of being the owner
