I have set up a group and forum for anyone interested in high quality, serious "debates".
You have to ask to be let in the "group". You can do that here or PM me. I set it up as a group so anyone that doesn't follow the rules of the forum can be removed. This is the 1 Forum on here that will be strictly moderated, you have to bring your "A game".
On that end, only Staff members can start threads in the Debate Forum and posts will have to be Ok'd by a Staff member before they get posted. If anyone wastes the Staff's time by repeatedly submitting "junk" they will be removed from the group.
There is a thread in the Debate Forum for members to submit topics for debate. Topics do not have to sports related, they can be almost anything. If you submit a topic that is deemed worthy it will be moved and used to start a thread and you will be rewarded handsomely with fake money and in most cases your thread will be featured on our Home Page.
More info about how it works is posted in the Debate Forum but the main idea is to have some quality discussion on here for those that want it.

Sure. Sounds good. I promise to be a good boy. Besides, I have been kicked out of better places. In the early 70s me and a buddy were rudely " escorted" out of the top floor of the Prudential Building in Boston where the fancy bar and dinner crowd gathers. The last thing I remember when the elevator door shut was Jerry Vale singing "Al di La" to the dinner crowd.

I'll give it a shot, but what makes me think Canuck is going to start a serious debate on the varied philosophical reasons as to exactly why the Leafs both suck and blow.

I noticed "joke" suggestions are not tolerated. Would it be out of line to request a separate "joke debate" thread?

How about this for a debatable topic: List the " best to worst " head coach of the Raiders beginning in 2002. 2002 Bill Callahan 2004 Norv Turner 2006 Art Shell 2007 Lane Kiffen 2008 Tom ( don't hit me coach) Cable 2011 Hugh Jackson 2012 Dennis Allen 2014 tony Sparano GO! I considered adding Del Rio as he is only 2 wins behind Shell and 3 behind Sparano the day he signed the contract. Note: The Raiders head coach in 1961 was named Marty Feldman. he was fired early the following season and ended with a record of 2-15. HONEST! Ya could look it up. Not this Feldman, but another one. Maybe your idea of goofing off is too restrictive. Swampy was defending the "other" selection. I was attempting to work a debatable premise out of him. We were both discussing QBs along the GOAT theme. |
