Put this out here bc the other teams (aka teams going to the playoffs may be involved.
Some thoughts/questions on Kimo possibily coming back (not confirmed but all indications are he will be back)
Flyers Fans
- glad to see him back? - think he should even play this season? - think he comes back next year (if he feels ok this year)?
Other Fans - want your team to grab him for a playoff run? - if so, what does he bring back for the flyers?
me personally, im glad he's healthy, not crazy if he is back this year. ideally, i'd like him to play 3rd pairing time just to get back on the ice, re-evaluate him at the end of the season. if he is healty, i'd love to see him next year playing with the kids. a second pairing of kimo/morin makes my pants bulge a little bit.

I will answer as a Flyers fan simply because I live within 25 miles of the city.... Kimmo is def your best defense-man. Good first pass out of the zone, not the most physical dude but smart positional player and good with the puck. I guess the question I would ask is why? 1) Why come back 1a) At this point in the standings, does it help? Flyers problem is consistency; boys need to rattle off some consecutive wins to get back in the hunt. Is Kimmo really going to push you over the top and make the Flyboys able to do that?

nyr, where do you live at? i live about 10 min outside of philly in south jersey.
to answer both you guys
1. why come back now? my only guess is kimmo wants to play just to get on the ice and see if he can possibly play next year. 2. best defenseman.....ehhhhh thats hard. last year he got owned alot on plays where his drop off of speed showed. lots of holding calls on him. im a huge fan of his and i noticed it more than i would like to see. 3. non playoff year, why rush things? i have no idea. not sure how much he's being rushed. already had a bit of a controversy where berube said "he's coming back" and an hour later hextall (and kimo) said "uhhh what, he's not ready to come back yet". i only want him back to gauge if he can still play and possibly come back next year, would LOVE to see him on a second pair with morin. 4. his contract is up this year. he's been LOVED in philly. guy always gets a great cheer, especially when in the press box and they show him on the big screen. really hope he factors in (a) getting paid not to play this year and (b) how great he is treated and signs for a cheap deal next year.

They could go 4 in a row tonight which would be just fine with me.

I am down in DE. Yeah I hear ya, but defense is def. Flyboys achilles heel. That d loses coverages all over the ice. Clock is ticking; they need to hurry up and start either a) moving players up/around (i.e. Prucha is nice) b) start making NHL draft choices or trades Flyboys have a decent core with Claude,Simmonds, and Vorachek

I don't know what type of physical effects all those blood clots had on him. Usually you take a blood thinner to which is something like wafarin which can kinda make you feel like shit at times.
If I was the mgmnt I would give him a chance to come back next season under two conditions. 1) he would have to be 100% physically ready and able to compete.
2) He would have to understand that his role would deminish some as far as playing time and he would be helping our youth. A lot of players have had success in their later parts of their careers, Kimmo could be one of them. Would love to see him back but just not as player but a good role player.

Ghost and Sanheim will be ready quicker than you think. i expect ghost, morin, and maybe hagg next year. with those three coming up and the amount of dmen they have contracted for next year, i could see them leaving sanheim down another year. however if hextall can unload these contracts, i would LOVE these guys to come up and see a third pairing of delzotto and schenn.

Yeah I mean he is far from done, alot slower, but far from done. Like I said, good first pass...always. But then again, my 12 yr. old figure skating daughter could probably start on the top 4 for flyers

Not sure why gostis was sent down, its not like Flyers defense was any good when he was up so why not just let him season up here. MDZ will be out of hockey soon. His offense is the only thing holding him around, but then again on the Flyers outside of the big 3 he looks like Orr on a rush. Schenn, now there is a huge disappointment.

Which is exactly what I wish the Stars would do with Oleksiak this season. I don't like the idea of a kid being a "healthy scratch" if your intent is to groom him to play. It's what they did with Jokipakka finally. If he needs ice time, then give it to him. If not here - there.
