Are the Pistons once again reduced to "Lottery Fodder"...
Boy it's looking that way since the meteor that was Brandon Jennings is now a meteorite.
That really sucks especially since he just posted the first 20 point/ 20 assist game for a Piston since Isiah Lord Thomas in 1985. D.J. Augustin is looking pretty good in his stead but where has the team defense gone?
Maybe it is just the shock to the players in the wake of the achilles shocker of BJ. Hopefully. I was just started to think that SVG had them believin' in themselves.

Took in Pistons- Timberwolves (aka as Flip's Flops or the Washington Generals) tonight at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Yes, the site of the "Malice at the Palace" starring Ron Artest) with the Mrs. Last event before she is drydocked by knee surgery.
Poorly attended game. Not surprising given the cellar dwellar nature of these two teams. Still, we are not, nor will we ever be "bandwagon fans". We go three to ten times a year regardless. Detroit is not as loyal a venue as many may think. Detroiters are by-and-large...frontrunners.
Pistons (15-8 going into tonight, since Josh Smith was dumped and Houston pulled him out of the dumpster on our dime).
Would never have known that they had played that well in the last 23 games by tonight. Young team that is a real challenge. Stan Van Gundy (SVG) better lay off the junk food or these kids will give him a coronary.
I knew three minutes in that the home crew was in deep dog dung. Andre Drummond drew two quick fouls. Totally opened up the middle for Nic Petcovic (aka as Ivan Drago...'I will break you'"". What is worse is that they were stupid "green youngster" fouls. Drum has been in the "Association" a few years now. Two quick fouls like that is bad enough. By then, of course SVG HAD to put Drummond on the bench. Result was absolutely ZERO interior defense. Things escalated and both bigs (Greg Monroe and Drum) combined for nine turnovers.
Drum ought to know better but still does not get it. You get 6 fouls and you're out. Kind of like a cat gets 9 lives. (Well if a six turned out to be nine, I digress...) Then, even when he re-entered the fray, the T-Wolves knew that he would play tepid. He did. His defense was not there because of the foul trouble. Andre is a potentially budding star, but he needs to know two things. Number one. Do not commit stupid early fouls. Kills your team early in a game. Number two. Work on free throws. Can kill you when your team is ahead late in the game. Remember Hack-a-Shaq. There is a good chance though, that ala Shaq, he will not overcome this one. So work harder on number one dude.
The same team that had gone 15-8 got totally dressed down and embarrassed by the T-wolves (now 11-40) 112-101.
And it was not that close...
