Unfortunately we actually did and still are getting hammered here in Mass. It's supposed to hang around until tonight and we already have 2'. There are a couple cars on my street that are almost totally covered.

This is the no win scenario or Kobayashi Maru, if you're a Star Trek fan. If the city doesn't take precautions and citizens are caught, the lawyers circle the carcass. If you do take precautions and citizens are stuck canceling important meetings and such because of a city disaster order, the lawyers circle the carcass. And the all knowing media, who offer nothing of value anymore, sit on the sidelines and dole out blame.

That is what I wanted; a storm! officially the biggest ever snow storm for my city, 33.5 inches. Just stopped a while ago, I haven't dug out my Jeep yet. I'm not alone there most cars on the street are still buried these are from earlier, it's even worse now there is a small car in front of the SUV.. my POS lol I got lucky I guess...worse now due to the plow

Amazingly, they throw too much hype at everything. In retrospect, all they had to do is indicate along with the huge snowfall predictions for NYC is that there is a 50-100 mile possible deviance in storm path. Hence, you may expect as much as 30 inches but as little as six.
We never have these kind of storms in Michigan because we do not have the Atlantic Ocean to feed these beasts that become Nor'easters.
But I was a teen when the second largest snowfall in a single day hit metro Detroit December 1, 1973 (19"). A storm had been predicted three days in advance. When nothing happened by that Sunday morning, the forecasters gave up and said that we would receive just snow flurries. Then the storm began, and the low pressure stalled over Lake Erie and 19" later, there we were.

Dad worked for the power company, he couldnt get traction in the rear wheel station wagon even with 4 boys and 1 girl pushing him down the road. Power company sent a snow plow with a rig behind it to come get him.
