In any case - safe to say his 15 minutes in the NFL are just about done. He can't be trusted no matter how much talent he has. I sure as hell don't want him anywhere near the Cowboys.

No sympathy...
My opinion on this is that a player (in any professional sport) signs a contract and that is immediately 'two strikes'. (s)He has signed a contract that basically says I will play for pay...and that part of that play includes the fact that people, especially young kids, will look up to me and some will try to mimic me. Whether I want it or not (looking at you Charles Barkley), you are a role model and must be held to those standards. Just because you are athletically better than 99% of the other people on the planet does NOT mean you can act any way you want. By choosing to put yourself in the limelight you are agreeing to hold yourself to a higher standard.
There. I said it.

Alcohol which is stupid. It is legal. it is like he's on parole Well... after a DWI, I don't have much sympathy for him. And lets not forget - the NFLPA agreed to this. It isn't like the league is acting independently. Bottom line is the dude knows the rules. He's too fucking stupid not to comply.

The good news is the Browns just opened up $1.6 million in cap space for 2015.
Bad news for Gordon- Ya just pushed back any chance for Free Agency until 2017 and if you clean your act up, ya get to spend another year in cleveland.

No sympathy for him. Especially since he's been hanging out so publicly with Manziel. Which just screams 'random' drug test.

yeah what a dumbass, especially if it's weed again. It is so easy to cover that stuff up. Even easier to just not fucking smoke up or drink at all. This guy has the talent and had the resume to earn himself a 7 or 8 figure contract. For that kind of money it should be pretty damn easy to pass up the drugs and alcohol. And I'm not even saying give it up for life. These guys retire in their 30s. Earn the money now and party later. Yup

Good read LIHI I knew that the marijuana part of his suspension was a joke (it is 10 times higher than the IOC and I'd fail it walking the hallways of my building) but that is the NFLPA's fault as much as the leagues they pay people far smarter than me to read thru these CBA's and give synopses on the pro's and con's of each section and if they had used the IOC standard (considered very tough) he would have been suspended for 2 games last season

Changes nothing in my eyes. Yes, he's right to blast the ridiculous talking heads that weigh in on every minute detail in sports. Like Stephen A's asinine opinion on anything matters anyways.
On one hand, he's saying he doesn't blame his environment for his choices, but this:
"Again, I make no excuses for my past. That culture didn’t make me do anything I didn’t want to do, but when you judge me without actually knowing me, you deny the existence of the world I come from."
So which is it? Accept blame for your choices or not.
There are plenty of hardworking individuals out there with similar backgrounds who actively seek to make the best/correct choice. Saying you take full responsibility for your actions while continuing to mention your background is just blame shifting.

I agree. Doesn't change a thing. Also note that he says he was tested for those drinks on January 2nd, so I'm sure he was just drinking Diet Cokes when he was spotted with Manziel in Aspen a week later.

My interpretation on that is he's saying that to judge him without knowing where he came from is to not fully understand what he's overcome to get where he is. I don't think he's using it as an excuse - but rather accepting that his background does have basis in some of his bad choices.

Diet cokes laced with second hand smoke. LOL Seriously though, it is plausible that he would believe that with the season ending that he wasn't doing anything wrong.
