Looks like Detroit is content with what they have. They need a RH shooting D. Could have probably pried Cody Franson from the Maple Leafs if they were still in the Western Conference,(and they could have really used him) . Unless they didn't even try. I have heard nothing. Dan Girardi? John Moore? |

"Girardi logged at least 30:00 of ice time in three straight games from Nov. 1 - Nov. 5; was the first Ranger to do so since Brian Leetch from Dec. 9 - Dec. 27, 2000 (eight consecutive games)". That and the Rangers are 8-2-2 when he logs 30 minutes or more. Moore is a pretty young dude (24) with upside. |

Moore and Hunwick (very undersized) have been platooning at the 6th and 7th spots respectively. I had high hopes for JM, esp. with Stralman leaving but AV is not a fan. I just wish we could give him some more time but rumor is he maybe on his way out of town. |

Really like the Isles Leddy signing. That kid can play.
I like the smith Pelly trade for Montreal, I'll be honest though, I don't know much about the prospect they traded back.
Can't believe Bergenheim was only worth a 3rd rounder. Wouldn't have minded that price paid by the Sharks. Afterall, apparently Tye McGinn was worth a 3rd rounder. I like Tye, but he's worth a 5th round pick at best.

Compared to other deals (Staal and Girardi), locking him up for 7 when he is only 23 is not a bad gamble at all. If the kid does blow up and become a really great defenseman you have him at 5.5 a year. |
