I believe UBP had a SH account roughly a year before FN collapsed. No idea how we all ended up here though other than that VikesRule had some kind of e-aneurysm. most of us in WLII opened SH accounts when FN did the mini crash and we couldn't post in the group for a few days and we all had to communicate thru the TD section. |

(As I recall, Fordman was the one who took credit) Yankees Fan was the one who actually suggested we give it a try. We were looking for a valid alternative to FN, which was already stricken with its sickness but had not completely collapsed yet. Check Win Twins' account - that has a '13 date on it also. BM and Flambo's probably did too. We stayed a week or so and then ended up going back to FN because we thought the Hoopla people were a buncha weirdos (the "my bunny died" thread was a joke that came from that experience). My original Hoopla account, Figjam Tornado, incidentally, was the first WLII account to be banned from Hoopla. I decided to burn my bridge to the place in '13 unlike WT and UBP. I can't remember exactly what I did (I think it was in fact on the dead bunny thread, something about rabbits were good eatin'). Our getting sick of the site really had nothing to do with the problems we encountered in 2014, oddly enough, which were mostly issues with the moderation. We just didn't find the conversations we found there worthwhile for the most part in the 2013 visit. Another oddity - when we did go there in 2014 I was able to create a new account for Sactown no problem - despite the earlier ban. As far as I know, it would be the same IP address, but just a year later. Perhaps HD wasn't memorizing them as well in '13 as he was in '14, but once before Sactown was banned I tried to log in to the Figjam account and got that the account was still banned. It didn't seem to have any effect on Sactown's status however. Just thought that was odd. |

Hammer says he never received a reported PM. That's a lie. I reported one of his after my banning asking why I was banned since I was never given any reason. Even after walking away for a while to let the waters calm.
Hammer said on a different site that he as given enough evidence against a ban happy mod that came with the site when he bought it. Yet they have threads, both members only and Admin only where they openly take pleasure in whom they've banned. Like a badge of honor.
Any time they ban someone that person is sending death threats/legal notices. At first I bought into this but I know for a fact Canuck is not only not a lawyer or associated with any law firm he doesn't even live in Vancouver like hammer claims. Based on his username Im sure. But ironically hes not even a canucks fan. Off the top of my head I can think of 4 people he has claimed sent death threats. And that's only the ones in the year or so I was a member/lurking there. Seems a bit high, no?
They claim zig and his buddies are out to get the hoop. I have seen almost 0 evidence of this. As a whole they seem like a bunch of people who just want to be left to their own devices and do their own thing. Hoopla doesn't get mentioned an iota here compared to zig and former FN'ers there. Not even close. Christ, "sactown" was a member there for less than a month and probably made less that 1k posts and the STILL talk about him. Even twins whom seems to have left some of us behind had a realistic opinion on those he no longer gets along with. And if twins does lurk here, hope ya got myemail even though I never got a response.
They bad mouth the shit out of misko in private. If I retrieved my PMs youd wonder why he is even a mod. Yet instead of doing anything about it, it goes unchecked because despite saying they don't like the drama, they get off on it.
Hammer says he doesn't make money off of hoopla and isn't getting rich from it. Yet claims it as his main source of income. SoCal isn't exactly a cheap place to live, no? Especially going through a divorce in a community property state.
What happens at the hoop is all that matters. Yet I was banned for something here. They put members here on restriction there from here. I wont add in the fact that there are some key members they over look because they don't know any better.
They don't care what sites people are a part of. Yet you cant even use the fucking word chatter over there. It gets starred out. How paranoid is that shit? I mentioned long ago going to sportsjabber.com for FN threads and keeping sports talk at hoopla. They leave the post but go back and add sportsjabber to the banned word list. It's a ded fucking site and they still were sensitive about it. They were fine with me exploiting the back door to FN to fan mail people, but in an attempt to keep everyone happy and not piss off the locals I get accused of recruiting for another site. Even though NO ONE after the original wave would have been there if not for a few of us.
They don't read PM's. Yet other members were run afoul after exchanging PM's giving emails and such. They even added somepeoples email addys to the banned words list. Yet today hammer says exchanging email addys is fine. Which one is it ya douche?
The same mods who will bust balls over something stupid will delete message to protect buddies of theirs. The husker boards come to mind in particular.
I was fine with hoopla. Despite their Nazi tactics and obvious fucked up self image of their moderation there were/are some good people there. I enjoyed interacting with a lot of them. Despite hammers numerous attempts to run me off (maybe because we were able to mobilize so many people to the site) I was having fun. Not causing problems. And yet they still ban me in the dark of night under cloak and dagger.
The lies are so bad and numerous you don't even have to go to different threads or pages to find them. Sometimes they back up to each other in consecutive posts.
It is truly entertaining to watch. Especially watching some of the sheep buy everything they tell them and that they are lesser than the staff even though they are the ones paying the bills with their ad views.

I feel bad you all were banned/fled the hoop. There are a lot of great posters over there. That said, selfishly, you all have livened up this board, so Ive got that going for me. Which is nice. Don't feel bad. That place is really not worth it. I don't give 2 shits about being banned there after seeing how they really operate. Not knowing why was the only thing that really stuck in my craw, especially after attempting to "shape up". The things I feel bad about are 1) The people that were contacted to go there. Makes those of us who did the contacting look like fools. And is why I really havent done much since leaving there. 2) The good ones that get abused because they have a mind of their own. and 3) The fact that you KNOW they are watching this place. They claim some of us(some of which arent even here and some that were before we showed up) are undesirables. That we werent good enough for them. They want nothing to do with us so they ban us. And then LURK here and refuse to admit it. Of course banned members are gonna lurk places, but to lurk the banned is some type of fatal attraction stuff. "I don't want you, but no one else can have you". That's the type of personality that ends up on crime shows fleeing the law after butchering an ex. |

They kept telling us to go out on the other boards and assimilate, but when we did we got attacked. I kept complaining to Cali to do something to set it straight...did it enough times that they figured it was easier to ban me than 'upset' a long-time member... smh |

And over on the Real GM site, PDay and Manster maintained it was the "FN takeover" that led to their banishment.
Now PDay and Cowboy Colors are both back with the "restrictions" Mondo and Nerb talk about.
It went beyond silliness.
