@ken_rosenthal Reported earlier that Sandoval’s side will speak by phone with #SFGiants today. No offer from #RedSox yet; Sandoval awaiting BOS proposal.

Sox officially make an offer to Sandoval not my money but hes a 15/70 or so guy who hits around .270/.280...but plays very good defense for a man of his girth. short shelf life on his D at third tho. COULD he hit better at fenway? possible. is he fat? yes.

He could hit better, because he is hitting in a better lineup......fewer guys to avoid, they will have to pitch to him more...but he wont be a better hitter.

I endorse Sandoval to the Sox
In an offseason I expect them to Go nuts spending, I would not mind if they allocate $90 million of that money to Sandoval

Sandoval plays defense just fine. He's above average on range and has a strong arm. The worry is if he keeps getting fatter.
His stats are also skewed because he's had two hamate bone injuries over the last 4 seasons (they've both been removed, so he can't re-injure them). He'll be a .300 hitter with 20+ bombs at Fenway if he stays motivated (big IF). He also is a beast of a Left handed hitter.....guess what AT&T park does to LH power hitters?

I watch the guy play probably 100+ times a year for the past four years.....but hey, you looked at baseball reference a couple times!

Fenway RF is a lot more rough than it looks. Sure, directly up the line looks super shallow, but do you realize how deep that angle and corner gets really fast? He's just a run of the mill, middle of the road 3b. He's not bad, but he's not worth big money.

Also, phone booth park has like a 50 foot wall in RF that extends a long way into Right CF, it's not just the dimensions. Again, this is coming from somebody who would NOT invest in Panda.

Hmmm.....So the only one who doesnt realize how average Panda has been is the guy who watches him everyday.... Lol, you either can't read, willingly dumb as fuck or trolling. If trolling, well played! No one here is saying Panda is bad. We're saying he's just ok.

Give me Headley over Panda every day of the week if Panda is getting $18 mil a year and Headley is going to get $12ish

Equal money and a two year or less deal, Sandoval all the way. Overpaid, fat, not motivated Sandoval or 3 years +, it's Headly in a landslide

And Headley shits all over Panda in the field, and if he stays in NY for a full season, he could easily hit 270 with upto 20 homers.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that Pablo Sandoval "will get at least a five-year deal, if not six or seven."
PLEASE be 7

Lets go ahead and get this awful Sandoval deal done. He's probably gonna get 5 years and 19 per year. Nice player, comically overpaid. He will be a nice #6 hitter.

Sandoval
Sounds like its 3 teams. Each at the 5 / 90-95 range
Bos, SF and SD
Thats a bad signing for SD. Not sure they can really afford to make a move like that for a player like Pablo. Theyve been linked to just about every bat this offseason. Be cool if they were serious about building a team for once. Never understood how theyre a "small market" team

Short term thats a solid move for them i think.
