Well that's a stupid rule. Ball dies at the 1 yard line - so instead of crappy field position, the receiving team can just kick the ball into the endzone and get a touchback? Really?

And remember if it's a touchback, there would appear to be nothing from preventing a receiving team from "inadvertently" kicking balls into the endzone to get better field position. Granted it rarely happens on kickoffs but still. Seems abusable like the old fumblerooski. |
