I think the winner of the Pens/Ottawa game on Tuesday will claim a Wild Card spot and the loser will miss the playoffs. The Pens' end of season swoon should/will cost them the playoffs if they lose Tuesday. If by some miracle they win Tuesday they'll lose in the first round. Right now, I'm not sure which scenario I'm rooting the most for???

I'd like to see them make the playoffs, but they'll be eliminated in 4 just because they can't be eliminated in 3. Either way, I'm wondering if MJ is going to be around next year.

That was crazy because the puck almost disappears after it leaves his stick. On the second video clip, if you focus your attention on the left post you can catch a glimpse of the puck barely missing it to the outside. The Sens will beat the Pens tomorrow, you can take that to the bank. Pittsburgh will take the lead then Ottawa will score three or four unanswered goals and win the game.

Adams 0 goals in 59 games; Lapierre 0 in 31; Bennett 0 in 29; Spaling 0 in 22; Kunitz 1 in 17; Comeau 1 in 14. Half their Forwards Jimmy Rutherford should walk the plank They also gave away their 1st this season in the Perron deal

These are the clinching scenarios for games Tuesday:
* The New York Rangers would clinch the Presidents' Trophy if they defeat the New Jersey Devils in any fashion.
* The Rangers would clinch the top seed in the Eastern Conference if they get at least one point against the Devils.
# # #
* The New York Islanders would clinch a playoff berth if they get at least one point against the Philadelphia Flyers OR if the Ottawa Senators lose to the Pittsburgh Penguins in any fashion.
# # #
* The Penguins would clinch a playoff berth if they defeat the Senators in regulation.
# # #
* The Detroit Red Wings would clinch a playoff berth if they defeat the Carolina Hurricanes in any fashion AND the Senators lose to the Penguins in regulation.
# # #
* The Minnesota Wild would clinch a playoff berth if they defeat the Chicago Blackhawks in regulation or overtime OR if they win in a shootout AND any of the following occurs:
the Flames fail to win in regulation or overtime;
the Jets lose in any fashion; or
the Kings lose in any fashion.
* The Wild also would clinch a playoff berth if they lose to the Blackhawks in overtime or a shootout AND any of the following occurs:
the Kings lose in regulation;
the Kings lose in overtime or a shootout AND the Jets lose in regulation;
both the Flames and Kings lose in any fashion; or
the Flames lose in any fashion AND the Jets lose in regulation.
* If the Wild lose to the Blackhawks in regulation, they would clinch a playoff berth if both the Calgary Flames and Los Angeles Kings lose in regulation.
# # #
* The Vancouver Canucks (idle) would clinch a playoff berth if any of the following occurs:
the Kings lose in regulation;
the Kings lose in overtime or a shootout AND the Flames lose in regulation;
the Kings lose in overtime or a shootout AND the Flames fail to win in regulation or overtime AND the Jets lose in regulation; or
both the Flames and the Jets lose in regulation.

These are the clinching scenarios for games Sunday: * The New York Islanders (idle) would clinch a playoff berth if the Ottawa Senators lose in regulation. * The Washington Capitals would clinch a playoff berth if they defeat the Detroit Red Wings in any fashion AND the Senators lose in any fashion OR if they get one point AND the Senators lose in regulation. Well Swampy (and Canuck, eh)... The playoff clinching scenario for the Detroit Red Wings is this... Win tonight at home vs. Carolina and have Ottawa lose in regulation to Pittsburgh. If they lose and Ottawa wins (both have a high probability of occurring as the Senators have cooled only slightly since Hamburglar came back to Earth vs. the Bruins March 26 and the Wings are reeling...) then it could be the first season of missing the playoffs in 24 years, as they close on the road vs. the Canadiens Thursday and the Hurricanes Sunday. Wouldn't have believed for one second that we'd be talking about Detroit still trying to merely qualify for the playoffs at this point, but the Wings have fallen so badly since March 1 that some of their faces are popping up on milk cartons. If Ottawa does not catch and pass Detroit, they will be kicking themselves all summer long over two straight losses to the Maple Laughs in shootouts. Come tomorrow, the playoff picture will either clear up. But more likely it will grow even cloudier than it is now.

Wouldn't it be a bitch if Pittsburgh or Detroit missed the playoffs after their first five months? Ottawa could sneak in over either but one of them is definitely going to make it in for the Eastern Conference as Florida is mathematically eliminated and C-bus waited too long to wake up.

Good article O. The point is well taken by the writer with regard to the Red Wings. They'd trade Jimmy How fucktard for Lehtonen in about a half-second if given the chance. Won't happen. Jim Nill is unlikely to deal with his former organization. He'd be crazy to take on Howard's contract anyway.

The BJs have had considerably more injuries that even brittle Detroit. And with Zetterberg and Datsyuk getting another year older, Detroit may not be in a position to make it to the playoffs next season.

Pretty good summation there. I'd like to see them make the playoffs, but they'll be eliminated in 4 just because they can't be eliminated in 3. Either way, I'm wondering if MJ is going to be around next year. 2 zip for the Pens so far.

They give up a 3 goal lead and then lose it in OT. 4 game losing streak and I think they were leading at one point in each game. I am so glad I only have to put up with this (nonsense) for 2 more games and then they are done.
