it absolutely is....they are very similar save for a few things vizquel would have to play another 10 seasons to strike out as much as jeter vizquel played better defense at 45 than jetes played when he was 25 vizquel was a better base stealer Omar vizquel never had a season where he batted .300 in a 24 year career He has 500 LESS hits in 4 MORE seasons Why are we having this conversation less hits....but you admit everything else is true

Jeter was a MUCH better hitter... Vizquel was on another planet defensively... I'd value the bat more, and I'd take Jeter over him...but it's much closer than you're going to be willing to admit.

led the majors in plate appearances 5 times.....but the 2 times he led the league in hits were in those 5 seasons.....he kompiled extra at bats and through sheer volume lucked his way into it.....

A smidge lower...but his OBP will be higher and he'll hit for more overall power... And he's a 21 year old rookie.. And I excluded that season from his compiling resume.... 5 of the his final 7 seasons...one he was hurt for most of it... It is what it is dude...

singling to right unnecessary jump throws striking out at an alarming rate playing horrific defense all qualities you want in a short stop But, but,............he's DRIVEN. And, those other intangibles.......

you could have put rey ordonez in that yankee line up and he would have put up similar numbers to jeter....plus he would have played much much beter defense.....if jeter played in milwaukee he would have been fernando vina.....nothing more....nothing less

5 times in 20 years, jeter has more strikeouts than runs scored.
and he was a "run creator"

"Classic Compiler" is a guy that has for years and years the season Jeter is finally having now Thats a classic compiler Been a below average hitter since 2010...this would make it 5 years of compiling by my count. Really 4 because he was an average hitter in 2012...you could go back to 2008 and add another, which would mean 5 of his last 7 seasons were classic compilers... It wouldn't be as bad if he had moved of short, the fact he's stayed there so long embarrassing himself exacerbates the compiling image. hitting .316 and leading the league in hits = average? seriously dude? cmon. i'd love to jump on the jeter bashing, but that's just retarded.

That honestly should say "above average"...he had a 114 OPS+ that year..."above average" If it was merely average I'd have included it...like I included his mediocre as fuck 2011 season...
