It appears it did not take a double dog dare. It seems Mr. Richmond was convicted while he was in the Army of voluntary manslaughter in 2004 while deployed in Iraq. He shot an Iraqi cowherder who had been detained along with other men. He claimed that although he had not seen the man with a weapon he thought he was lunging to attack another soldier and didn't realize that his hands were bound. Shot him in the back of the head from six feet away. He was released from prison in 2006. Maybe he was hoping to relive his glory years? |
