 Chief Standing Bear, whose 1879 lawsuit and celebrated “I Am a Man” courtroom speech led to the recognition of Native American legal rights, was honored on Friday with a Forever stamp featuring his portrait. A leader of the small Ponca tribe in northeastern Nebraska, Chief Standing Bear successfully fought in court for Native Americans to be considered persons in the United States with the same rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as other Americans — and not as wards of the government. Driving by the Astrodome in Houston on 610 and couldn't see it clearly because it was a good 1/8 of a mile from the freeway. The ship channel was so polluted that nothing could live in it, not fish, crabs...nothing! That's why it pisses me off so bad every time that some GOP asshole whines about how much the regulations cost these poor little manufacturers. Walk your child or grandchild outside in this crap and remind them that it could be this way everyday
