This is pretty much what Mario did to Pittsburgh a few years ago. The only difference was the other side was the Pennsylvania Governor. PA ended up forking over all the money for the new arena while Mario was shopping the team in Kansas City. He said he never would have moved them, but I really don't believe him and the whole situation still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. |

Stupid sabre rattling . The NHL is not gonna move the Flames out of what is easily one of the top 10 NHL hockey markets and ship them south to be second fiddle to a basketball team . There is a compromise deal in the air somewhere , and i wish we had a Mayor that had an interest in sports so he/she could find it and get this thing done . Our current Boob of a Mayor cares as much about pro sports as i do about a sale at Yarn barn. |

I love the fact that they are gonna get rid of the hand chopping - love it . Ironic that one of my best Flames was sidelined last year to a nasty hand chop , but in the first set of split squad games the same Flames took 6 slashing minors . That shows how prevalent it is . I hope they hold this standard ALL season.

I think it is the natural "next" enforcement . 10 years back they finally decided to start cracking down/enforcing the obstruction rules and the game got faster and better . This slashing enforcement/cracking down will add another gear and could increase scoring. |

I think it is the natural "next" enforcement . 10 years back they finally decided to start cracking down/enforcing the obstruction rules and the game got faster and better . This slashing enforcement/cracking down will add another gear and could increase scoring. It will definitely put a premium on better special teams play. Hopefully the Stars can take advantage. Of course, they are going to have to improve from friggin' 20th on the PP and 30th on the PK. Hitch can fix it. |

Your Lads will be much improved on the PK |

Just wondering how hard the NHL players are going to push to be in the Olympics. Considering that they are in South Korea and the crazy Rocket Man is just a few miles to the north. Also just saw that NBC will not show any NHL games during the Olympics.
