Geno was drafted the year before Crosby was. The To***to Sun is not a credible source! Malkin was still in Russia if I'm not mistaken for 2 seasons after being drafted, so yes he was on the horizon. The fact Balsillie was in negotiations shouldn't be in doubt. He followed this up with attempts for the Preds and Coyotes Malkin was drafted the strike year and Crosby the year after. Malkin joined Crosby during his first year. I don’t think Crosby was tearing it up yet when Malkin got there but soon after. |

His second year, Malkin's first year, he had 36 goals and 84 assists. Geno had 33 goals and 52 assists that year. Looking at it, Malkin doesn't seem to have made much of a difference for Sid because he more or less stays at that level of production. |

Tempers were running a little short last night and Sid kind of embarrassed himself in a scuffle. A little later there was an exchange between a Blue Jacket and Sid, but Sid skated away and Reaves (6'1, 225) stepped in front of the guy as Sid kept going. That ended that.

I know this rule has been on the books, but I've never seen it enforced before. The center was waived out of the face off circle, the next guy comes in and just goes right into the Penguin. Torts was a tad "irked" by the call. Check it out at the 4:54 mark.
