1 Cleveland Myles Garrett DE, Texas A & M Cleveland gets the edge rusher they need. Other needs are possibly a OT to compete with slow developing Cameron Erving at RT and the chiseled in stone by now QB position. DB's will surely be addressed through out this draft and LB as well should get a prospect or 2
2 Carolina Solomon Thomas DE, Stanford Carolina trades 2017 #8 & #40 and 2018 4th round pick for the Niners 2017#2 and a 2018 6th Carolina takes Ealy's replacement and then some I can see him moving inside on passing downs and using Shaq in a 9 gap for more pressure
3 Chicago Malik Hooker S, Ohio State I think the Bears would like to trade down here as well as a safety at 3 is uncharted territory. Lattimore and Adams could be in play here as well. This is a make or break year for John Fox
4 Jacksonville Leonard Fournette RB, LSU This throwback runner is Jamaal Lewis 2.0 and Marrone needs a bell cow to make this offense work. Yes there are lots of great prospects at RB this draft but the Jags opt for the closest to the sure thing
5 Tennessee Marshon Lattimore CB, Ohio State Too early to go WR which I expect they address at 18, or earlier if they move up. With Hopkins Allen Robinson and TY in division a #1 corner is a necessity. Titans draft theirs here
6 NY Jets Jamal Adams -S, LSU With the Jets probably not picking up Calvin Pryor's 5th year option the Jets get their replacement in this in the box S who can cover most TE's. There is a distinct possibility that the Jets take the pick of the litter at QB here but I believe they are all in for the 2018 QB draft extravaganza
7 Los Angeles Chargers Jonathan Allen DT/DE, Alabama Chargers are transitioning to a 4-3 and in Allen they have a plug and play hybrid lineman. They probably would take a QB early if there is one they like as Rivers is getting up there. As per usual in scheme format change there will be some square pegs in round holes and they should be addressing that throughout the 3 days There could be trade talk here as the teams that need a QB might want to jump the queue and get 1st crack
8 San Francisco Mike Williams WR, Clemson And the QB wait yet anther pick as the Niners pick up a true #1 WR they haven't had since T.O.> I actually expect the Niners to try trade down again following the Sashi Brown's Browns prototype which is a blatant ripoff of the Jimmy Johnson Cowboys plan to stockpile picks by trading down. The Niners need help just about everywhere except D-line
9 Cincinnati Reuben Foster LB, Alabama Trade talk for this pick should be electric as the next 4 picks could conceivably be taking a QB. Bengals grab a tackling machine to finally replace Malaluga at ILB. Could see them going outside the box and taking the speedster Ross here to open up the field for the running game and he's the perfect compliment to AJ Green
10 Buffalo Corey Davis WR, Western Michigan Buffalo after losing their #2 and # 3 WR a day one starter. I am probably in the minority in figuring the Bills won't take a QB early. If Taylor is successful the Bills will be picking later than this and won't be in the mix for a new QB in 2018 if the Bills and Taylor shit the bed they will be taking their 2018 starter early in nest seasons draft. Another team transitioning to a 4-3 from a 3-4 so scheme fit defensive players will be picked throughout
11 New Orleans O.J. Howard TE, Alabama Or Njoku a Jimmy Graham clone. OJ is more of a factor in the run game tips the scales in his favor. CB and S will be addressed early and often, I can see as many as 3 for those 2 positions. Edge Rusher and a QB of the future could also be on their agenda
12 New England via Cleveland Hasson Reddick ILB/OLB, Temple Cleveland sends their #12 in 2017 #32 in 2017 Houston's 2018 2nd rounder acquired in the Osweiler deal for Jimmy Garoppolo New England gets a hybrid LB who can play inside and out and can even play at DE on passing downs
13 Arizona Jarrad Davis -LB, Florida With their window closing I have passed on the QB I penciled in for them in 1.0 & 2.0 although they will have to address it sooner than later. I believe this spot is too early for Ross with his injury concerns although he'd be a great fit in Arians downfield passing attack
14 Philadelphia Dalvin Cook RB, Florida State A 3 down back that can carry the load. DB's Conley or White or edge McKinley will also be possibilities here. CB will definitely be a day 2 pick if they don't take one here.
15 Indianapolis Forrest Lamp G/T, Western Kentucky . Chris Ballard has his work cut out for him after the disastrous Grigson era. Linemen offensive and defensive will be possibilities every time they go to the podium a RB as Gore is nearing the end should also figure in
16 Baltimore Takkarist McKinley DE/OLB, UCLA Ravens get their replacement for Terrell Suggs. Conely and White are other possibilities as is Ross as a field stretcher to take advantage of Flacco's long ball
17 Washington Jabril Peppers S Michigan Washington takes the hybrid S who can play LB in dimes or slot in nickle formation. Ross would be another possibility as a replacement for the departed Desean Jackson
18 Tennessee John Ross WR, Washington Ross' speed stretches the field and helps the ground game cause of it. Mariota gets the gamebreaker to take this offense to another level. Ross' classmate Baker will also get consideration here as safety is a primary need and will be addressed I'm sure before day 2 is over.
19 Tampa Bay Taco Charlton - DE, Michigan Williams of Bama if not for his red flags might have been in play here. Premier pass rusher need to work on his run defense skills to be a three down player
20 Denver Garett Bolles OT Utah Denver starts to shore up their primary weakness by adding a potential 10 year starter at LT in the Utes Bolles. Finding a quality inside 'backer to put next to Brandon Marshall should be in play as well
21 Detroit Charles Harris DE, Missouri Pass rusher who's an excellent finisher. Harris fits a big need on the defensive side of the ball. Zach Cunningham is another possibility here as LB is fairly barren at Allen Park. A field stretching WR should be on the agenda sometime during the draft as well
22 Miami Gareon Conley CB, Ohio State A scheme fit in both zone and press type schemes. LB and OG should also be a priority. This and the next couple picks are possible trade up spots for QB hungry teams picking early in round 2 like the Niners and Jets
23 NY Giants Ryan Ramczyk OT, Wisconsin Giants brass admit their Flowers mistake with the addition of Ramczyk who may start at guard before being kicked out to the LT island. MLB and a succession plan for QB are other area of interest
24 Oakland Raiders Tre'Davious White CB, LSU 4 year starter for the Tigers A cover three type that is good in run support. DT is a big need as is CB. Amazing the turnover in three short years as Reggie McKenzie has rebuilt a floundering franchise into a conference power
25 Houston Pat Mahomes QB, Texas Tech Texans surprise with their choice of QB but seeing as they couldn't afford the Patriots price for Jimmy G. they take their redshirt QB as bridge QB Tom Savage takes the controls in 2017. I don't see a late signing of Romo changing this as Romo's window of quality QB-ing is a couple seasons at best. Houston is able to stay where they are and get the pick of the litter thanks to the Garoppolo trade.
26 Seattle Cam Robinson OT, Alabama Seahawks brass hope they finally hit on a LT they've needed since Walter Jones retired. Pencil Kevin King CB from Washington if they actually trade Sherman which I highly doubt but wouldn't surprise me as Seattle marches to their own beat and with their recent success who can argue
27 Kansas City Kevin King CB, Washington King joins former college teammate Marcus Peters to man the corners in KC. ILB and D-line are primary needs A QB of the future should be on the horizon behind Ales Smith as well
28 Dallas Cowboys Derek Barnett DE, Tennessee Quincy Wilson and David Njoku are other possibilities here but the Pokes take the high motor Barnett here at a position of utmost need. Expect at least 2 secondary players to be selected by drafts end
29 Green Bay T.J. Watt OLB, Wisconsin JJ's brother and home state hero gets the nod over Tyus Bowser Budda Baker and Adoree Jackson here. A bellcow RB would be a nice fit in this draft class as well.
30 Pittsburgh Tyus Bowser OLB, Houston Adept in pass coverage and in the backfield. A prospect that has the potential for double digit sacks and can also mirror TE's in coverage. Other needs include ILB WR and with Big Ben already talking about retirement a QB of the future needs to be groomed sooner than later
31 Atlanta Tim Williams DE, Alabama This pass rusher fills the Bruce Irvin role in Dan Quinn's defense. If his red flags are a concern that a DT like Caleb Brantley of Florida or Malik McDowell, of Michigan State could be considered. A right guard is another primary need
32 New Orleans Christian McCaffrey RB/WR, Stanford New Orleans take the Swiss army knife running back slot receiver that will make mismatches that will keep DC's up all night Defense pretty well all over should be prioritized

That's an interesting Panthers trade you're projecting He is the best of the rest the Niners need picks plus have taken D-linemen from Oregon the last 2 drafts so it's probably their only position group strength so I can't see them taking him . Bears run a 3-4 so they wouldn't be a fit. Gettleman loves D-lineman they are the base of his defense they have locked up Short but I suspect they are going to pass on the 5th year option on Lotulelei. Having already jettisoned Ealy to the Pats They made sense as it is a position of need and he is the best besides Garrett and can also slide inside ala Michael Bennett and create pressure from the inside. It was them or the Chargers and with Bosa there and a myriad of other needs I took the most logical team to move up

But - he articulates it way better than I ever could. All QBs A Crap Shoot On Draft DayI agree with that. But it doesn't factor in $$$. With the current rookie contracts you're paying a #1 overall pick roughly $24 to $30 million for a four year deal. Some positions that's overpaying. Other positions it's a bargain. With a QB - the highest paid position in the game - teams feel they are at least keeping they're salary caps in order. I agree it's not the best route of on field success, but it matters a lot when you're the guy cutting the checks. Due to the finances, I believe there's only a small number of positions that teams feel they can actually draft #1 overall: QB, LT and an edge pass rusher. With that said, i still agree that teams shouldn't force the QB pick. IMO an elite pass rusher can turn your team around almost as fast as a QB. Most SB contenders have one. Hell, Von Miller went #2 overall in 2011 and won Super Bowl MVP a few years later. So I am firmly in the Myles Garrett camp. Great point. It is also why if the teams at the top of the draft are thinking QB with their second pick it makes more sense to trade up into the late 1st round cause 1st rounders have an extra year of control (the 5th year option). It's why the Romo effect IMO, presuming the Browns weren't all in on 2018 draft, that they will select a QB at 12 when if Romo had signed with Texans they would have traded up with their 33rdpick and some of their draft picks that they had in abundance to jump up into the low 20's to take the same player

But - he articulates it way better than I ever could. All QBs A Crap Shoot On Draft DayDrafting players before they are at that level is all about projections, and there are so many mitigating factors to put together mental, physical, sociological. Yet only the physical can be measured in concert with each player. It isn't the physical that is the problem grading it is the other 2. The QB is by far 6the most important position on a team if you don't have a better than replacement value QB you would be amiss to not consider the prospects at that position. And early remember Russell and Dak fell more cause of conceived physical limitations (too short) that didn't fit the parameters for their position. If Geno Atkins hadn't performed so well there is no way Aaron Donald goes in the 1st. Fact is they say film doesn't lie, it didn't for Atkins he produced it was the positions size weight parameters that sent him down the list cause he didn't fit the scouting communities mindset for the position. That is where the Seahawks have excelled they wanted Russell Wilson and viewed him as the 2nd best QB in the draft they also knew that he wasn't going to go early they knew when the were going to take him prior to the draft. Here's a guy who checks off every ,measurable except height, judged as off the charts at mental and social, yet one flag a perceived one at that (height) yet he's drafted after a punter. Dak same thing after a kicker You can;t win without a QB if you don't have one you've gotta swing for the fences

We'll never know and alas he is considered a bust but how much of that is on the player as opposed to the team. The farther down the road it becomes, the more it's put on the players shoulders

Quarterbacks tend to be valued differently during the draft (at least by teams without a starter) than any other position. Now there's smoke that the Browns will take Trubisky at 1. I believe that is part of the smoke and mirrors that happens pre-draft. Also the Bills did a workout with him that included Pegula. Find that peculiar. I still believe if the Browns don't get Garoppolo they will take Trubisky at 12. And if Romo had gone to the Texans the browns would have used their draft capital to move to the mid 20'sd to have taken him there . Is this a good QB draft? No. And no one believes it is. But if a team can afford to take a QB it's the Browns. If I took the time to go back. I could show you other considered bad QB drafts where there were elite QB's (Boomer) and I can show you ones where there were some major clunkers (Couch Akili Cade) where there was a "great" class.. And let's not forget the 2nd QB taken in that great class of 1983 was Todd Blackledge. How'd his career workout

And the whole "QBs are valued differently" is why the shitbag teams of the league never get better. The Browns honestly would be very wise to complete ignore all of the QBs in this class and aim for one next year. They have a bajillion picks if they feel like they'd need to move up to get a guy. The QBs in this year's class are all bad. As for those draft classes, the Akili-Cade-Couch year also had McNabb get taken between Couch and Akili, but this is just as bad a draft class as I've seen...its literally identical to the EJ, Geno, Nassib class from several years ago, and I'd take Geno over any QB in this class without a second thought. And I do not like Geno one bit

Remember Hue has a QB friendly offense and was able to win with McCarron an okay talent at QB. I'm sure Plan A is Garoppolo but 1st Romo not going to the Texans and then the Bills possibly looking hard at the browns has totally screwed up their Plan B. Noe it probably comes down to how much they like him

I truly believe that he should have stayed in school another year, but he didn't. It isn't about talent they all have that in spades it's the mental make up that defines them as pros. Remember that Cam Newt=on almost right up to the draft was viewed as a 2nd rounder who might get into the end of the 1st round. Blaine Gabbert was getting all the love not Cam. The Panthers put their chips in with Newton and he hasn't looked too shabby. Trubisky needs a team that can groom him. He has the NFL arm needed to make all the throws he looks downfield and as a mobile QB that is rare at that level. Mental makeup however is next to impossible to measure. The lucky QB's that might get drafted by the Chargers Cards or Giants are going to have a leg up as there will be no pressure on them to perform out of the gate. And normally I'd be shuddering about any QB going to Cleveland but Hue has a great QB friendly offense and Hue also has the cajones to play Kessler over a 1st rounder as he develops him. That in itself is a big plus for a developing QB as there are none even near starter ready. Any QB going to the Jets I am betting has next to no hope of being better than a clipboard holder as the infrastructure to develop a QB is just not there. Remember that Big Ben Brady Wilson Dak all had teams that sheltered them as they developed on the field (half field reads, bootlegs) learning the nuances of the pro game. The Gabberts Geno's and Ponders of the league didn't get that luxury and were soon to develop the dreaded Joey Harrington syndrome which at this point in time has been incurable

Tell me how you came to this assumption, which is all I'm betting it is. Sure it's easy to say that as I pointed out the bust rate is high. The Gabberts Geno's and Ponders of the league didn't get that luxury and were soon to develop the dreaded Joey Harrington syndrome which at this point in time has been incurable What I find funny about the college to pro evolution is that the players can do the more complex things like reading the defenses and yet can't do the fundamentals like footwork or route trees or taking snaps under center It used toi be they had the rudimentary ones down pat and you had to teach them the more complex, now it's vice versa That's the read option for ya'...

Whoever takes Trubitsky in the 1st round is absolutely flushing their pick down the toilet. Might as well take a punter Tell me how you came to this assumption, which is all I'm betting it is. Sure it's easy to say that as I pointed out the bust rate is high. I truly believe that he should have stayed in school another year, but he didn't. It isn't about talent they all have that in spades it's the mental make up that defines them as pros. I just think he's flat out, a very bad QB who is going to get eaten alive if an NFL defense is thrown in front of him. Look at his game logs, did he play any good defenses? He's just a bad bad prospect that gets anointed as a high pick just because he's the guy that throws the ball. Nothing about him makes me even think he might be average. He does nothing well. I wish someone could explain why the heck people actually think he's any good.

1 Cleveland Myles Garrett DE, Texas A & M Cleveland gets the edge rusher they need. Other needs are possibly a OT to compete with slow developing Cameron Erving at RT and the chiseled in stone by now QB position. DB's will surely be addressed through out this draft and LB as well should get a prospect or 2 2 Carolina Solomon Thomas DE, Stanford Carolina trades 2017 #8 & #40 and 2018 4th round pick for the Niners 2017#2 and a 2018 6thCarolina takes Ealy's replacement and then some I can see him moving inside on passing downs and using Shaq in a 9 gap for more pressure 3 Chicago Malik Hooker S, Ohio State I think the Bears would like to trade down here as well as a safety at 3 is uncharted territory. Lattimore and Adams could be in play here as well. This is a make or break year for John Fox 4 Jacksonville Leonard Fournette RB, LSU This throwback runner is Jamaal Lewis 2.0 and Marrone needs a bell cow to make this offense work. Yes there are lots of great prospects at RB this draft but the Jags opt for the closest to the sure thing 5 Tennessee Marshon Lattimore CB, Ohio State Too early to go WR which I expect they address at 18, or earlier if they move up. With Hopkins Allen Robinson and TY in division a #1 corner is a necessity. Titans draft theirs here 6 NY Jets Jamal Adams -S, LSU With the Jets probably not picking up Calvin Pryor's 5th year option the Jets get their replacement in this in the box S who can cover most TE's. There is a distinct possibility that the Jets take the pick of the litter at QB here but I believe they are all in for the 2018 QB draft extravaganza 7 Los Angeles Chargers Jonathan Allen DT/DE, Alabama Chargers are transitioning to a 4-3 and in Allen they have a plug and play hybrid lineman. They probably would take a QB early if there is one they like as Rivers is getting up there. As per usual in scheme format change there will be some square pegs in round holes and they should be addressing that throughout the 3 days There could be trade talk here as the teams that need a QB might want to jump the queue and get 1st crack 8 San Francisco Mike Williams WR, Clemson And the QB wait yet anther pick as the Niners pick up a true #1 WR they haven't had since T.O.> I actually expect the Niners to try trade down again following the Sashi Brown's Browns prototype which is a blatant ripoff of the Jimmy Johnson Cowboys plan to stockpile picks by trading down. The Niners need help just about everywhere except D-line 9 Cincinnati Reuben Foster LB, Alabama Trade talk for this pick should be electric as the next 4 picks could conceivably be taking a QB. Bengals grab a tackling machine to finally replace Malaluga at ILB. Could see them going outside the box and taking the speedster Ross here to open up the field for the running game and he's the perfect compliment to AJ Green 10 Buffalo Corey Davis WR, Western Michigan Buffalo after losing their #2 and # 3 WR a day one starter. I am probably in the minority in figuring the Bills won't take a QB early. If Taylor is successful the Bills will be picking later than this and won't be in the mix for a new QB in 2018 if the Bills and Taylor shit the bed they will be taking their 2018 starter early in nest seasons draft. Another team transitioning to a 4-3 from a 3-4 so scheme fit defensive players will be picked throughout 11 New Orleans O.J. Howard TE, Alabama Or Njoku a Jimmy Graham clone. OJ is more of a factor in the run game tips the scales in his favor. CB and S will be addressed early and often, I can see as many as 3 for those 2 positions. Edge Rusher and a QB of the future could also be on their agenda 12 New England via Cleveland Hasson Reddick ILB/OLB, Temple Cleveland sends their #12 in 2017 #32 in 2017 Houston's 2018 2nd rounder acquired in the Osweiler deal for Jimmy Garoppolo New England gets a hybrid LB who can play inside and out and can even play at DE on passing downs 13 Arizona J arrad Davis -LB, Florida With their window closing I have passed on the QB I penciled in for them in 1.0 & 2.0 although they will have to address it sooner than later. I believe this spot is too early for Ross with his injury concerns although he'd be a great fit in Arians downfield passing attack 14 Philadelphia Dalvin Cook RB, Florida State A 3 down back that can carry the load. Linemen offensive and defensive will be possibilities every time they go to the podium a RB as Gore is nearing the end should also figure in 16 Baltimore Takkarist McKinley DE/OLB, UCLA Ravens get their replacement for Terrell Suggs. Conely and White are other possibilities as is Ross as a field stretcher to take advantage of Flacco's long ball 17 Washington Jabril Peppers S Michigan Washington takes the hybrid S who can play LB in dimes or slot in nickle formation. Ross would be another possibility as a replacement for the departed Desean Jackson 18 Tennessee John Ross WR, Washington Ross' speed stretches the field and helps the ground game cause of it. Premier pass rusher need to work on his run defense skills to be a three down player 20 Denver Garett Bolles OT Utah Denver starts to shore up their primary weakness by adding a potential 10 year starter at LT in the Utes Bolles. Finding a quality inside 'backer to put next to Brandon Marshall should be in play as well 21 Detroit Charles Harris DE, Missouri Pass rusher who's an excellent finisher. Harris fits a big need on the defensive side of the ball. Zach Cunningham is another possibility here as LB is fairly barren at Allen Park. A field stretching WR should be on the agenda sometime during the draft as well 22 Miami Gareon Conley CB, Ohio State A scheme fit in both zone and press type schemes. LB and OG should also be a priority. This and the next couple picks are possible trade up spots for QB hungry teams picking early in round 2 like the Niners and Jets 23 NY Giants Ryan Ramczyk OT, Wisconsin Giants brass admit their Flowers mistake with the addition of Ramczyk who may start at guard before being kicked out to the LT island. MLB and a succession plan for QB are other area of interest 24 Oakland Raiders Tre'Davious White CB, LSU 4 year starter for the Tigers A cover three type that is good in run support. DT is a big need as is CB. Amazing the turnover in three short years as Reggie McKenzie has rebuilt a floundering franchise into a conference power 25 Houston Pat Mahomes QB, Texas Tech Texans surprise with their choice of QB but seeing as they couldn't afford the Patriots price for Jimmy G. they take their redshirt QB as bridge QB Tom Savage takes the controls in 2017. Pencil Kevin King CB from Washington if they actually trade Sherman which I highly doubt but wouldn't surprise me as Seattle marches to their own beat and with their recent success who can argue 27 Kansas City Kevin King CB, Washington King joins former college teammate Marcus Peters to man the corners in KC. ILB and D-line are primary needs A QB of the future should be on the horizon behind Ales Smith as well 28 Dallas Cowboys Derek Barnett DE, Tennessee Quincy Wilson and David Njoku are other possibilities here but the Pokes take the high motor Barnett here at a position of utmost need. Expect at least 2 secondary players to be selected by drafts end 29 Green Bay T.J. Other needs include ILB WR and with Big Ben already talking about retirement a QB of the future needs to be groomed sooner than later 31 Atlanta Tim Williams DE, Alabama This pass rusher fills the Bruce Irvin role in Dan Quinn's defense. If his red flags are a concern that a DT like Caleb Brantley of Florida or Malik McDowell, of Michigan State could be considered. A right guard is another primary need 32 New Orleans Christian McCaffrey RB/WR, Stanford New Orleans take the Swiss army knife running back slot receiver that will make mismatches that will keep DC's up all night Defense pretty well all over should be prioritized I hope that Bob Quinn is smart and takes one of your suggestions and not the 2nd ranked TE David Njoku out of Maimi as Daniel Jeremiah suggested on ESPN.

It's the retraining of all the bad habits that they have had since junior high that bothers me. College coaches aren't training them to succeed in their chosen profession they are using them to win. Funny that Here's a former scout's evaluation As a passer, Trubisky is like a MLB pitcher with a vast repertoire of pitches. He can make every throw in the book with zip, velocity or touch while consistently delivering the ball within the strike zone. Trubisky's unique ability to use different speeds and trajectories on his throws allows him to throw with excellent anticipation and timing, particularly on out-breaking routes like comebacks, post-corners and bench routes (10-yard outs from slot WR) outside the numbers. He has an outstanding feel for delivering the ball to a spot well before his receiver makes his break at the top of his route. With NFL coaches known to covet quarterbacks with pinpoint accuracy and exceptional anticipation skills, Trubisky's spectacular talents as a passer put him near the top of the charts. Yes there is risk involved but you need a player at the most important position and the arguement that you are tied to that QB if you draft him is basically true but if you go in thinking that way you will still find yourself unemployed cause you can't win in this league without a QB and if you don't have one as a coach or GM I give you 3 years tops before you are let go if you don't unearth one
